Great Device let down by small battery

Everything about this device is stellar from the listening experience and having lots of settings to tweak the music at your fingertips. However for some reason shuffle is hidden in the settings? Which makes no sense as its a feature that i find is used more often than loop track. Also the battery life is less than expected from a device that is designed to be able to connect to the internet. When all battery saving modes are turned on it only lasts about 2 days with small amounts of use. A beefier battery would go really far to make it a better product.

I bought this as it was Android based and I was hoping to exploit some of the Android apps. Positives. Nice design and usability, ability to integrate with Amazon Music HD. Sound quality very good, ease of use very good. Negatives. Batter life is very poor, nowhere near the expected levels even with most non-essential functions disables. Does not support Android Auto (very disappointing). This should be addressed so I can use my car's screen to manage music whilst driving and use the device hands free.

I've had this 2 years now and I love the music quality. It's easy to use, has a great interface and is really well made. There 2 issues... 1 The battery life is about 8 hours at best. I keep the WiFi switched off to prevent drain. 2 The memory for apps is quite small and when I first had the device it warned me that there was not enough memory left for upgrades. So I deleted a few. I still like the device but I feel a bit let down by the limitations.

My 1st Walkman..

Hi as a dinosaur that has until recently previously "burned" my own cd comps for the car and my Ghetto blaster, thought it was time I delved into the world of Bluetooth and DAPs.. Did some review read ups, watched some reviews on YouTube on all sorts and all prices, so after a process of elimination decided to go for a Sony NW-A100 Walkman (I have recently bought a JBL Boombox 3 - which is "Bluetooth" only..) So this review in mainly concerned with using the Sony via Bluetooth.. I have 2 HP (Windows) Laptops, one older than the other, the older but better laptop - the Sony didn't recognize it but did with the newer one,(Something to do with the "Ports" on the laptop), that is the only moan I have.. wasted an afternoon trying to come to that conclusion.. Once that was solved was easy to transfer music via my laptop to the Sony, you will need to get a extra storage card (Currys sell them easy to fit and go from around £15 up..) The Walkman feels "quality", there is a Sound enhancements (different settings for 10 I think of the top of my head) and a custom option for adjusting the graphic to your own tastes. It is MP3s and WMAs I have been playing so far, it will play Flac but not really investigated them yet. Conclusion: I haven't investigated every facet of this Walkman, Flacs are a future project, it didn't like one of my laptops but liked the newer one and worked straightway in nextdoors (Gamer) computer.. You can connect to your Wi Fi and listen to eg: Youtube, or use without wi fi and use Bluetooth only.. So would I recommend this Sony Walkman?.. - I would, take a bit of time to listen to your fav song with the various sound options, (there are a few more sound options than mention here) I am impressed with this wee device, if it died or got lost or stolen - I would get another.

I found the product great for audiophiles! I also loved the Android OS! It's a pity that USB-C headphones lag sometimes with this device and I can't hear sound and the restart needed to solve the problem.

Bought it a month ago ands its a cool little mp3 player, great sound coming out of it. However it crashes regularly (currently stuck in an android recovery loop) and i've got no idea why anybody would what all their data and email synced to their MP3 play via google drive & gmail

Das Gehäuse ist schön handlich und die Verarbeitung super. Durch das Android-Betriebssystem und die WLAN-Verbindung, ist die Software immer auf dem aktuellen Stand. Richtig prima ist, dass die bekannten Geräte sofort gekoppelt werden. Ich würde den Player jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Trefa do černého,Tento produkt opravdu stojí za to.Nejvíc mě na něm překvapil zvuk,hned ze začátku na prvních pár nahrávek to byla láska na první poslech,no prostě čistý kvalitní zvuk bez hluku bez šumu bez jakéhokoli zkreslení. V hloubkách kolikrát zazní taková zvláštní jiná dunivá fáze,jakoby zvuk z HIFI věže.To z výstupu z mobilu jsem nikdy neslyšel tam to znělo akorát přebasovaně a hlučně.Tady u tohoto produktu je kvalitní hardware a ta muzika opravdu hraje tak jak to hrát má.Detaily ve výškách a v hloubkách jsou na úplně jiném levlu takový jemný teplejší a dostupnější zvuk.Baterie je celkem hodně rychle nabitá cca za 2 hodiny.Design a ovládání je hodně dobře propracovaný,Překvapilo mě i to,že ekvalizér je dostupný i při poslechu na Youtube a digitálního rádia to je další plus.V mobilu to nefunguje.Další plusové body jsou Wifi a NFC,u Wifi funguje i připojení na Hotspot.Tento Walkman se opravdu povedl :)

This is a wonderful digital audio player! It's easy to use, it has a good software, and the sound is phenomenal! The price you pay compared to other streaming digital audio player's, makes this a great value. My 2 biggest deciding factors for buying this was 1, the size, and 2, the cost. The Android software is easy to use as well as Sony's proprietary app called Music Player and Music Center. Both are very reliable. I also love the size. I didn't want to lug around another smart phone sized device. It's about 70% of the length of my iPhone and 70% of its width, with cases on both. The battery life could be better, and I think it gets a bad wrap unnecessarily for that. It's kind of expected because of the size. When new I could get about 3.5 hours from 100%. I simulated listening for that long without my headphones on. Although I have had this device for over 1 year, and I've never listened to it for 3.5 hours straight, so this hasn't been an issue. The output volume through speakers isn't the best either. I have to crank it to like 90, unless I have the volume turned up all the way on my speakers. Through headphones, they sound amazing, and I don't have any complaints about the output. Overall this is a great device!

Der Player sollte meinen 9Jahre alten NWZ-A15 ersetzen (Akkutausch nicht möglich). Vorteile des „alten“ und nicht mehr verfügbaren NWZ-A15: 1. Grundfunktionen wie nächster Titel, Lautstärke ändern, schneller Vor- bzw. Rücklauf, Pause, Ausschalten konnten durch haptische Tasten in der Jackentasche (ohne Blickkontakt) ausgeführt werden. 2. Der Player war deutlich kleiner. 3. Akkulaufzeit war wesentlich länger (50Std. !!). 4. Alter Player reagiert auf Tastenbefehle deutlich schneller. Es muss halt beim ersten Einschalten kein Android hochgefahren werden. Nachteile des NWZ-A15: USB-Übertragung der Daten langsamer. Nur Sony USB-Spezialstecker verwendbar. Vorteile des NW-A105: 1. Höhere Datenübertragung durch USB-C. 2. Standard-USB-Kabel. 3. WLAN fähig. Der Sony NW-A105 ist ein Android 9 Smartphone das High-Res wiedergeben, aber nicht telefonieren kann. (Wobei mit der Fritz-Phone-App im WLAN-Netz müsste selbst telefonieren funktionieren) Ich wollte aber einen Walkman. (Smartphone hab ich schon)

Having bought this to replace my 10 year old AW-A35. I was so looking forward to all the new features as its is now android run and Wifi as well. I have charged it up and started the installation procedure for Android, a bit like you do with a new phone. Now you have to remember this is a 16gb model. The installation was complete and it wanted me to do the latest update which I did. Now you have to realise I have not put any music on it at this stage. I will do later but only on a SD card. Imagine my surprise when after the update restart it tells me there is less than 2GB of memory left and this wont be enough for future updates. What!! Not even put music on it or used it for the first time and it says not enough memory. What apiece of absolute rubbish. They should have concentrated on the music and stuck with old system as everybody knows how heavy android is on memory. Sony you have got this so wrong you should have realised about android updates and made this 32GB and not 16GB. This is the most expensive piece of rubbish I have ever bought. To be able to use it I have had to disable nearly every app on it and turn off Wifi. Which then makes you ask what is the point of this player. So utterly utterly disappointed. Sort it out Sony

Ich habe diesen MP3-Player seit 1 Jahr. Vorteile: Sound 4 von 5 Sternen. Nachteile: 1. Dies ist eine Batterie, die sehr schnell leer ist. 2. Es gibt kein Firmware-Update. Könnte eine neue Version von Android bereitstellen, damit die Anwendung von Google Play länger unterstützt wird. 3. Der MP3-Player kann nicht erneut geflasht werden, sondern nur zum Aktualisieren oder Zurücksetzen auf die Werkseinstellungen.

Super Walkman für unterwegs. Ob Online oder Offline, Musik hören macht einfach Spaß darüber. Streaming Dienste laufen auch darüber und geeignet für Sport ist er auch dann braucht man nicht immer darum Handy mitnehmen.

Au bout de 6 mois, l'appareil m'a lâché. Ce n'est pas seulement la déception d'avoir mis 250 euros dans un appareil deffectueux qui, lorsqu'il marchait, suscitait de la frustration (type : le volume sonore qui se bloque à 50 et qui oblige de redemarrer le lecteur ou la faible capacité mémoire de l'appareil obligeant de mettre des cartes SD qui ralentisse la mise en marche), mais c'est aussi une perte totale de confiance vis à vis d'une marque qui pour moi symbolisait la qualité. Je vais devoir sûrement m'assoir sur 250 euros, c'est vrai que par les temps qui courrent, c'est un luxe qu'on peut s'offrir. C'est assez triste à quel point Sony perd en qualité au fil des années.

I haven't had it that long so it's difficult to really say. But previously I had an ipod and it's nowhere near as user friendly as that. I'm struggling to import my CDS onto it and it doesn't work as well with my car stereo. I find the user instructions difficult to follow.

+ Gutes Display + kein eingeschräntes Android + Zusätzliche Bedienbuttons an der Seite (Lautstärke plus/minus, Vor/Zurück, Pause und Lock) + Gute übersichtliche Playerapp + Streaming möglich + Gute Konnektivität (WLan) + Apps können installiert werden - Hohes Gewicht - Akku mit sehr geringer Leistung (Bei eingeschaltetem Display kann man regelrecht zusehen, wie die Akkuprozentanzeige fällt.) - Das Gerät wird bei Nutzung mit eingeschaltetem Display sehr warm (intensive Hintergrundaktivität? - würde auch den hohen Akkuverbrauch erklären) - Vinylprozessor funktioniert nicht bei Bluetooth-Kopfhörern - DC Phasenlinearisierer funktioniert nicht bei Bluetooth-Kopfhörern - DSEE Ultimate funktioniert nicht bei Bluetooth-Kopfhörern - Lautstärkeregelung wird bei Bluetooth-Kopfhören gesondert geregelt - Zu geringer Speicher (Android und vorinstallierte Apps belegen allein schon ca. 11mb)

Ich hatte jetzt ein Jahr Zeit den Player ausführlich zu testen. Zunächst das Positive: Der Klang und die sehr gute Unterstützung der Sony-Kopfhörer. Als mittelmäßig empfinde ich die Akku-Laufzeit, was aber zu verschmerzen ist, da das Gerät für seinen eigentlichen Zweck einen WLan-Zugang benötigt. Sehr schlecht allerdings ist die Performance. Das Teil ist schon mit Amazon-Music als einzige App überfordert. Das WLan-Modul ist schlecht. Somit gibt es häufig Abstürze. Android 9 und wenig Speicher...Naja, eben seeeehr langsam. Das Allerschlimmste ist aber die Lautstärkebegrenzung. EU-Richtlinie hin oder her, das geht so nicht. Dann muss man sich eben aus dem EU Markt verabschieden. Betriebssystem-Updates gibts offenbar auch nicht. Mit der mangelhaften Systemleistung und der ebenfalls mangelnden Lautstärke ist der Player total überteuert und keine Empfehlung.

Rapport qualité prix un peu juste. Produit neuf et pourtant la batterie se décharge vite. Trop peu de mémoire embarquée, mode d'emploi pas toujours explicite (notamment la capacité maxi de la carte mémoire difficile à trouver *) et surtout grande déception lors de la première écoute. En effet, la puissance est faible et, par conséquent, pas très dynamique. Il faut vraiment pousser le volume vers le maxi pour avoir une écoute "punchy". Et, après recherches, il est nécessaire de télécharger un logiciel pour pallier à ce gros handicap. Décevant, il en est fallu de peu de me faire rembourser si je n'avais pas trouvé le logiciel miracle afin de pouvoir booster la puissance sonore. *Appel à Sony France, numéro surtaxé pour attendre 20mn en ligne (facturé 12,84€), ne pas obtenir de réponse et se voir raccroché au nez !

NW-A105 sounds great but has some limitations

Firstly, the positives-sounds great and small size makes it easy to put in your pocket. Secondly, the negatives the memory is way too small to be able to download much music (but I remedied this by buying a SanDisk Ultra class 10 A1 micro SDXC memory card) and the battery does not last long enough when listening to HiRes (but I remedied by buying a small power bank) . Also as I have used IOS previously Android took a bit of getting used to.

Baladeur avec des bugs

J'ai reçu ce baladeur depuis le 27 septembre 2022. J'ai pu constater certaines choses. Hormis que l'écran tactile soit petit et qui fait que pour écrire c'est plus compliqué que sur un smartphone, il est aussi truffé de bugs : - Quelques applications aléatoires qui cessent de fonctionner au démarrage - Le WIFI et le Bluetooth qui s'allument automatiquement au démarrage, ne prenant pas en compte le paramétrage avant d'éteindre le baladeur. - Le baladeur ne se connecte pas automatiquement aux écouteurs bluetooth lors de l'activation du bluetooth, même s'ils ont déjà été appairés auparavant et enregistrés comme d'autres produits sur l'appareil. - Le bouton poussoir "HOLD" qui sert normalement à verrouiller afin d'empêcher toute manipulation accidentelle mais qui ne verrouille rien puisque qu'il est tout de même possible d'explorer le menu avec le HOLD affiché en haut de l'écran Il faut aussi noter que le formatage d'une micro SD est devenu + compliqué que sur le NW-A35, puisqu'il n'est plus affiché dans la partie "Stockage" se trouvant dans les paramètres. Côté design, il est pratiquement similaire au NW-A35. Seul le système d'exploration a vraiment changé puisqu'il est passé sous Android 9, qui est une version pas toute récente et limite sur le Playstore. Il est fort possible, que si aucune MAJ pour passer à une version + récente ne sera pas déployée dans quelques mois, que l'utilisateur se retrouve coincée avec des applications qui ne seront plus à jour dans leurs versions. Pour ceux qui est de la musique, j'utilise le bluetooth. Hormis les problèmes déjà cités, la qualité du son est très bonne. Le gros point noir est la durée de la batterie : 5-6 heures d'utilisation pour la mettre à plat. Si vous voulez un baladeur qui tient la route, évitez de prendre le NW-A105 ; Le NW-A35 tient bien plus longtemps.

Une taille parfaite mais une autonomie réduite

Walkman de grande qualité au niveau des finitions, au niveau de ce qu'on a l'habitude de voir chez Sony. Il respecte mon cahier des charges initial : lecteur de musique avec bluetooth+NFC+usb-C+jack3.5 La taille est parfaite, on en regrette que ça ne soit pas un mini téléphone complet ! L'autonomie est assez limité de base : Android + Google apps, mais en désactivant toutes les app inutiles on obtient quelque chose de plus raisonnable. Positif: Taille parfaite Écran de grande qualité Restitution sonore de bonne qualité (heureusement vu le placement tarifaire, et les multiples arguments marketing associés) Port microSD USB C Bluetooth NFC qui permet d'appairer instantanément avec un casque compatible (wh-710n par exemple) Wifi Jack 3.5 Autonomie correcte après modification des applications installées par défaut Interface utilisateur fluide Surcouche Android assez discrète (presque trop, l'application walkman n'est pas vraiment mise en avant et manque d'un widget directement accessible) Négatif : Batterie de très petite taille non amovible, sans option de prolongation de durée de vie comme c'est le cas sur mon Xperia 10iii Android ancien (9!) Sans mise à jour proposée (faille de sécurité pour un appareil pouvant accéder à internet) Android pas optimisé pour ce type d'usage et nécessitant du bricolage par l'utilisateur final Application de réduction de bruit qui ne semble pas fonctionner (a priori dédiée à un accessoire non disponible sur le marché français ?) Conclusion : appareil clairement positionné en "will I" de part son prix et ses fonctionnalités audio. S'adresse à un public très particulier qui recherche spécifiquement un walkman au prix d'un smartphone d'entree de gamme (~250€) alors qu'un smartphone de milieu de gamme pourrait tout à fait le remplacer la plupart du temps. Permet indirectement de gagner en autonomie sur le smartphone principal, ou d'écouter de la musique sans téléphone.

Superb sound

The sounds is fantastic, when I listen to jazz standards is just like having a band in front me, The sound is clear and crispy, the equalizer presets levels helps switching music gender. Also the hi-res streaming is impeccable. It looses one start for the battery life and the fact that the android is not upgradable to the latest version (it will save some battery)

I was looking for a Sony player that supported more than 14GB of music storage and this certainly fit the bill. I have an older NW-E385 that is just phenominal and links up with my car through a USB connection. This model does not. I purchased it exclusively to interface with the car but it's not very friendly with the controls unless I connect via blue tooth, then there is significant delay and lower audio quality through that connection. Once I powered it on and saw the interface I realized it's just an android phone without call capability. This means I have to configure an account on the device to update or add any software. It also means it's bloated with extra battery killing garbage that I don't need in a music player. In hindsight, I probably should have just ordered another 14GB device without all the phone (not-a-phone) services. Worth mentioning, in addition to the phone/not-a-phone services, it also does not support images or video.

Im Dez. 21 gekauft. ich bin leider nicht zufrieden mit deisem Gerät. Der Akku ist sehr schlecht, der Player hängt sich ständig auf, die Verbindung mit Streamingdiensten ist sehr instabiel. Von Sony habe ich leider mehr erwartet!!!! Service ist sehr schlecht, man wir NUR auf die Angaben hin gewiesen aber eine richtige Unterstützung, Vorschläge und Hilfe bekommt man nicht!!!!! Man wird nur mit Frasen vertröstet. Für so ein namenhaftes Unternehmen ist das richtig Traurig. Keine Kauf Empfehlung

Great little player for the sun lounger

Bought this for listening to music & audiobooks while laying in the sun. Noticed that you can also watch YouTube and MP4 files abiet the screen is super small. Easy to set up and transfer files. The main reason I bought three NW A105 was due to the SD card. It was hard to find one that you can expand the storage. The only downside of this plaster is the battery life. Realistically is 4-5hrs worth if using bluetooth headphones.

Great Sound but has user issues.

So I decided after my Sony mini disc MZ-RH1 gave up the ghost many moons ago to forgo using my mobile for listening and go back to a dedicated player. First impressions, underwhelming: the player is tiny but weighty with a handsome chunky design. My advice if you are going to download MP3 or AAC compressed music files then I would stick to listening to music on your mobile. This player with it's Micro SD card slot is really about listening to your music in the highest possible fidelity. I download CDs using the Sony Music Center for PC then transfer to player in PCM, i.e. in the same bitrate as CD you are transferring from. If you are after music artwork you might be disappointed because none of the CDs I transferred had any accompanying art work. I transferred a CD in compressed format by mistake and lo and behold the art work was transferred too! Of course this not true High Resolution as touted by the industry but then you are looking at an expensive route of acquiring High Resolution tracks or albums from various on line retailers. I purchased for £1.39 Paranoid Android in Hi- Res. I wasn't blown away by the difference. Granted I was using non Hi -Res. cans but the quality was subtle not dramatic. Lastly this player's battery life is atrocious and it takes an age to fully recharge. I have disabled almost all the apps this android 9 system comes with. Stick to music or music streaming sites and the battery will last longer but not considerably so.

Great digital audio player

Bought this to replace very old iPod. Use it mainly as repository for tunes to be played whilst at home or on the move. Only criticism, which I’ve read elsewhere, is battery life. Using it the way I do - linked by Bluetooth to smart speaker - really drains it.

Great sound quality and impressive features

Bought this recently to replace an NW-A45 which I unfortunately lost. The sound quality seems a real step up - I am noticing extra details in music I have been listening to for years. It's useful to be able to install android apps. For example the Sony Music Centre and Headphones. I have also enjoyed playing my music on a streaming amp, uncompressed over wifi, while control the amp from an app on the walkman.

I received the player, bought a memory card, loaded the software for various streaming apps and then tried to listen to some music. Oddly enough the player would work with a cheap pair of exercise headphones, but my nicer Bose headphones had no sound at all. Going back to the cheap headphones I noticed that the headphone jack was likely defective as sound would cut in and out if I moved the headphone plug around. I called Sony for assistance they gave me an RMA and said they would refund my money. No attempt to replace it or indicate that that was a common problem, so I don’t know how prevalent this issue is. I went back on the website to order a replacement because they didn’t offer to ship a new unit out and they’re out of stock and no indication of when they’ll be back in stock I did notice while using the device to browse or load software that it was a bit slow compared to a phone for example when I’m trying to work with any application

Pros: high fidelity. Cons: very short battery life. No high speed battery charge. Tiny screen. It won't activate by touching the glass. It won't power up good quality head phones. No sim card, I need to have my phone with me to share wifi with this Sony Player. 16Gb memory? Are you kidding me? Lol. Another hundred $$ must be spent on external memory. Oh, boy.

Ausstattung und Sound sehr gut. Endlich Micro-USB! Allerdings sind die no-go's: Sehr träges Verhalten dank Android und ein völlig unakzeptabler Akku, der nichtmals einen Tag hält. Da ist der Vorgänger NW-A55 um Längen besser! Ich würde mir wieder einen reinen DAP wünschen ohne das Android Gedöns. Fazit: nicht empfehlenswert

Bought this a few weeks ago, I really like it, it plays beautifully. I pair it with my Sony WH-1000XM4 for headphones for a really peaceful, relaxing music session. Two things to point out - 1) you will need a Miscro SD card for your music files as the Android system takes up most of the internal storage space and 2) the battery life won't be great for some people. My real world test gave me 8 hours on a full charge using Bluetooth and 15 hours with my headphones via the jack socket (with bluetooth and wi-fi turned off). Since I use mine a couple of hours a day I don't see the battery as a problem as that kind of useage gives me several days without a recharge. Anyway, this is the best sounding media player I have ever used and I would recommend it.

The sound quality is definitely hi-res. But that's all that is going for it. The music app lack feature that other 3rd party have. Sorting is very limited. You cannot create playlist on the fly. Equalizer have limited preset available. Also if you use 3rd party music app and connect to a Bluetooth, if you then connect to another Bluetooth device the volume get stuck and you cannot adjust it. Sony offer a Music App for you to create playlist to transfer to the Walkman but it doesn't transfer playlist...waste of space. I haven't given it 1 star because I like the hi-res music and I was able to create a playlist manually. The walkman accept m3u playlist. But it can't read special characters in the folder. So I had to edit huge amount of files to remove all the special characters. I bought NW-A105, if I bought the higher spec ones and found all these faults. I would have instantly returned it and ask for money back.

Ideal for driving wireless headphones

Overall pleased with the Walkman, considering the features and price. My only complaint is the short battery life. 2 hours of wireless playback uses 50% of the battery. Before buying I read other reviews that mentioned the same short charge life. I'm not an Android user, so was surprised by how it reboots the applications when its gone to sleep. Buttons and touch screen all work beautifully and it does exactly what I want from it - LDAC driver for my high end wireless headphones. Therefore the quality of it's internal headphone amplifier is unimportant. Note: it can't drive higher (>100ohm) impedance headphones with much volume. That will be done to the tiny battery.

Far superior to ipod

Ibought this to replace my ipod touch, which is completely rubbish. This is muxh better, although the software( Music Center) is atrocious. Fortunately I had the old one--MediaGo, so I was able to load music. Once I got used to its (non-Apple) idiosyncrasies I found it far superior to its more expensive rival. Get a large capacity microSD and you're good. Nice to make the ipod touch redundant.

As the owner of several Walkmans in the past, I have got other models to compare against: Good points: Great sound quality, as always. Good design. Being an Android device now means it is more adaptable for other uses. Uses a standard USB C charger cable now. Bad points: The battery life is not great and with Bluetooth and WiFi on, it is very poor. It is not Bluetooth 5, which may well have improved the battery life. If you are using Bluetooth headphones/earbuds without their own volume control, you cannot change the playback volume. So to do this you need to download a separate music playing app that will allow this (I use Musicolet). In summary good Walkman, but could be better.

Good MP3 player, UI needs a little work

I bought this to play my music collection without the need to pay for a subscription service online after Google Play shifted to YouTube Music and became much less user friendly as a way of driving people to pay for the 'premium' service. In that regard, this device does what it needs to. I'm not a serious audiophile so couldn't comment on the intricacies of the audio quality relative to other devices but I am happy with the sound quality and device overall. Where it falls down a bit is the UI of the music player app is a bit clunky and un-intuitive. It does not seem to have a 'cast' option but you can of course pair bluetooth devices with it external to the app. As many people have noted, the playlist function is weak but instead you have 'bookmarks', which essentially serves the same purpose but is less intuitive and presumably doesn't transfer between computer and devices like a playlist might be expected to. A strange quirk is that some songs appear in the library twice despite the actual file only being on the drive once. I cannot work out if this is due to the app (it doesn't happen on any other system or app eg VLC) or the meta information on some of the music. I don't share the same battery concerns some users have had, though as the device runs on an Android OS it's easy to see why it wouldn't last as long as a device that simply ran purely as an MP3 player. Because this Walkman has Android, you can download a host of streaming apps and whatever else. Bear in mind though it doesn't have built-in speakers like a phone so any sound has to come through headphones or speakers. Overall I'm happy with the device and suspect it'll serve me well for a good many years to come. Hopefully the UI on the music player can be updated and it'll smooth out the current minor irritants. Speeding up the boot time would also make it feel more responsive as a device as it does feel like it takes longer to turn on than a similar Android device such as my phone.

Leider liegt das Gerät hinter den Erwartungen zurück. 1.) Der Akku ist grottenschlecht, der hält noch nicht mal die Hälfte der angegebenen Stunden. Bei Übertragungen per Kabel auf eine Box, schafft das Gerät nur max.5 Stunden. Genauso verhält es sich mit Kopfhörer per Kabel. Wenn dann noch der Bluetoothmodus aktiviert wurde, verkürzt sich diese Zeit noch mehr. 2.) Die Software für den PC läßt keine individuellen Einstellungen zu. Wenn man auf dem PC seine Musiksammlung chronologisch geordnet hat (entweder nach Ordner, nach Albuminterpret, nach Interpret, oder Titel) dann kann man diese Einstellungen im Musikcenter nicht synchron anlegen. 3.) Die Musiksammlung auf dem Walkman spielt zwar in der Endlosschleife, auch im Zufallsmodus, aber bei 1500 Titeln kamen innerhalb von 3 Stunden mehrere Titel doppelt und zwischendurch bricht auch noch unvermittelt die (Kabelgebundene!) Verbindung ab. Es kommt dann kein Ton mehr aus der angeschlossenen Box. Man muss dann jedesmal manuell einen Titel vorspringen, dann geht es wieder weiter. Hier sollte seitens SONY unbedingt bei allen 3 genannten Mängeln nachgebessert werden. Ich besitze mehr als 6 Produkte aus dem Hause SONY, aber ein Produkt, dass einem so wenig Freude bereitet, habe ich noch nicht erlebt, zumindest nicht aus dem Traditionsunternehmen SONY. Schade!

This is a very usable little DAP. Sounds great, is small, good Android operating system, streams well....but. There is one problem, one BIG problem. Battery life is atrocious. Cannot believe that Sony did not fit a bigger battery it goes down as you watch. For streaming at good quality rates just about 3-4 hours if that. Even for locally stored MP3 files it's not that much better, even though the sound is great. Sony don't keep this on the market, put a bigger battery in. Totally stupid. Someone at Sony is mad. This could have been the best DAP on the market with a bigger battery. Can't believe Sony are so stupid.

correspond a mon usage, fichiers flac en ecoute sur enceinte onkyo ou casque audio-technica audiophile. en revanche, peu de paramtreages possibles (exemple balance gauche droite), pas de housse ni de protection fournies, l'appareil est super lent au démarrage, et la reactivité tactile n'est pas au rdv , il y a toujours un decalage . L'objet est beau et rafiné et tres compact. L'autonomie est largement en dessous de ce qui est annoncé. pour plus de 300 euros, on attendait un mimum mieux.

The volume on Bluetooth is (a) not adjustable once transmission starts and (b) too low. Further it will not cast music over the wi-fi from the built in music player. Additional 16gb of memory is hopeless when Android takes most of that. Consequently it is not fit for the purpose for which I bought it.

Have purchased "8" of 8 gb sony walkmen over the last year re covid and enjoyed them all, but buying this larger walkman nw105 I can not get it to connect to my windows 10 media player, not technically minded, so probably wasted £200, instructions with the player not helpful, should have stayed with the smaller versions.

Habe in der Vergangenheit schon einige Sony - Geräte besessen, aber dieser Player ist einfach nur absolut schlecht. Der Klang und die Drosselung der Lautstärke sind zwei KO - Kriterien. So etwas zu solch einem Preis zu verkaufen ist eine Frechheit. Wäre mir der Player nicht zu Boden gefallen, Schramme am Gehäuse, hätte ich ihn wieder zurück gegeben. So muss ich ihn leider behalten. Diesen Player kann ich niemandem empfehlen !

I bought this about a month ago to use when on long motorbike trips and it is terrific. The interface for loading music is nice and easy to navigate. The device is easy to work (esp as I already have an Android phone) and the music quality is just what I had hoped for. An added bonus (when using it without a crash helmet is the cassette display - esp as I remember the original Walkman :)

Poor Battery Life

Bought this product specifically as I wanted something that can play Audible books via the App. I must stress that these are downloaded booked and not streamed. I knew the battery life wouldn't be as high as the top claims but from full charge to flat in under 5-hours is a complete waste of time for me. That was with all the suggested battery saving options in place. The other things that annoyed me was the 16GB claims. Barely half of that capacity is actually available. The OS takes up around 7.7GB then the standard apps use more. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product.

Great music player...music app is a disappointment

Bought this great little music player and it does everything that is expected of a Hi-Res player is suppose to do - high definition music that the artist intended. The look and feel of this device is outstanding. The only disappointment is Sony's own music player platform app - that has very few functions, infact there are other far superior hi-res music player platform apps on the market, that puts Sony's own to shame. The built-in 16gb internal memory leaves very little room to add additional apps of your own. Battery life is somewhat of a disappointment - you'll be lucky to get 7-8hrs play time from this, but then, how often do we charge our own mobile phones? Don't let these little faults deter you from buying this product. It's a fantastic player and the music quality alone will win you over, providing that 'wow' factor.
