Superb, comfortable headphones.

Straight out of the very useful storage case, you can feel that they are a quality pair of headphones. Very easy to connect to my iPhone, using the headphones app. Super comfortable but secure and nicely intuitive controls on the outside of one “can”. Just a swipe up/down to adjust the volume, left/right to fast forward or rewind and a tap in the centre to pause. The noise cancelling works exceptionally well. Just be aware that you may not hear the next station announcement on the train, and miss your stop ( luckily only a 20 minute detour). The sound quality really lets you immerse yourself in the music, and the battery life will make any journey a pleasure.

One side has fully stopped working within 6 months. I seldom used these headphones anyway but am disappointed with Sony’s build quality as of late. Microphones also introduce significant wind noise for “ambient sound” honestly these are pretty rubbish.

i love it very much. bought it on the first week of march 2025 and the condition is very good. i love the bass and the noise cancellation. works super well. one thing i’ll say is that the ear pads didn’t last long for me, lasted for about 3 months. it started peeling off so i had to buy one on amazon (first week of may) and the earpads i bought has lasted me much longer (2026 january 12) than the original. and like a couple months ago, the head rest is starting to peel of as well. but i still love this headphone, it still does its thing.

Good sound quality, some design flaws

Wish I could give 2.5 stars. The sound quality and bass are very good and it has great battery life with incredible charge speed. However, the ear pads wore out and fell apart very quickly, much quicker than any of the other headphones I've had. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal if they weren't such a pain to replace. Compared to my previous headphones which were incredibly easy to replace the pads on, just stretch them over a lip, these are held in place by some kind of glue/adhesive as well as a plastic ring that snaps down and you have to take apart. Makes replacing them or just taking them off to clean incredibly inconvenient. The other big thing I didn't like about these ones compared to others I've had is that when used with Bluetooth they can only be in either noise cancelling or ambient sound mode, no neutral setting. The touch settings were convenient except the 'hold for voice command' setting, which constantly gets activated by accident and is incredibly annoying. I also really wish the volume touch command wouldn't play an annoying loud beep every time it was adjusted, interrupting any audio you have playing.

Had these for almost two years still hold up well. Good quality sound with decent noise cancelling. Only issue I've had is the fabric on the ear muffs has worn exposing the foam. However this is likely due to constant daily use on my part.

Ear pads and headband

Ear pads and headband rapidly started to wear after not even a year of continuous light use. Ear pads are torn to shreds and there's not any replacement for the headband. Overall the sound and everything is great and they cancel our noise well till the ear pads start getting worn. They are a bit quiet if you're in a really loud busy area.

Das Produkt zeichnet sich vor allem durch seinen massiven Bass aus. Außerdem positiv zu bewerten ist der Tragekomfort, da man auch nach stundenlangem Tragen glatt vergisst, dass man sie aufhat. Die Akkulaufzeit und das schnelle Laden sind ebenfalls positiv zu bewerten. Das Design ist schön und schlicht. Die dazugehörende App bringt viel mehrwert an Funktionen. Gut, aber nicht sehr gut ist das Noise Cancelling, was bspw. was Stimmen angeht, teils etwas besser sein könnte. Die Funktion zwei Geräte verbinden zu können ist lebenswichtig. Allerdings kommt es dabei hin und wieder zu Problemen bei der Verbindung und Tonausgabe eines zweiten Gerätes. Deutlich negativ, ja katastrophal, ist die Verarbeitung der Polster. Mir sind jetzt innerhalb von zwei Jahren, häufiger, aber sorgfältiger Nutzung die Ohrpolster an den Nähten aufgerissen (siehe Bild). Außerdem hat sich nach 1,5 Jahren das Kunstleder auf dem Bügel komplett verabschiedet. Und trotzdem eine klare Kaufempfehlung, denn die Polster tun zumindest noch ihren Dienst. Sie sehen zwar schlecht aus, aber es beeinträchtigt tatsächlich nicht den Tragekomfort. Trotzdem peinlich Sony!

A good mid-range headphone

A good headphone set with digital noise cancellation. I haven't had these long but tried them out on a recent plane journey and found the noise cancellation quite useful. Obviously not as good as some of the top range headsets but not bad at all for the price of £120. My only negative is the App that it suggests you use with the headset; I am not sure what the point of it is. You can make some minor adjustments to the sound but really it is totally pointless. I am hoping that I will learn more about the App as I use it, but first sight it seems to be of no use at all.

I purchased these today as I am due to fly out on an 11hr flight to South Africa very soon. The last pair of headphones I bought from Sony was the MDR XB950AP which I LOVE, however I no longer am able to buy them and needed a worthy successor which packed the same punch. These, well... I wasn't raising my hopes too high as with trying any new product that you try to replace from older models. These sound crispy clear and the noise cancellation is perfect, could barely hear my own thoughts. The sound is exactly what you want from headphones especially when you want bass to be present. The only let down with these headphones is the built in microphone which is very low quality however for someone who is not using them for the microphone purpose this does not cause me any issue with the sound quality which is an expected AAA+ from Sony.

I was looking forward to getting these headphones for both the bass and the noise cancelling but I've been really disappointed with the noise cancelling. I don't know if it's just my pair as other reviews have been positive but I can fully hear conversations and noises even with noise cancelling turned on. Would recommend it for the bass.

However, your headset Bluetooth version is 5.2 and is backwards compatible with older versions of Bluetooth (including Bluetooth 5.0). But, your TV has to support A2DP Bluetooth profile to be able to be connected to any Bluetooth headset.

Had these headphones for about 2 month. Base is good but can be a little over powering. The best thing about these are the features. Connect hands free to alexa or google. The equaliser is a nice addition where you can customise the treble and lower the bass

I've had them more than a year. One issue is the sound of wind noise. If its rainig they can get confused with the touch sensitive right cup. I am still unsure about how touse voice as I use them with an Android tablet, an iphone my laptop so should I say hey siri?, hey google? or "alexa" ?

I bought these on Black Friday for around £130 and whilst I say they are great for the price I wouldn’t pay £200 for them at their original price. Very comfy on the ears and the app lets you customise the sound so well I was amazed. They’re sturdy and have held up so far in just over 4 months and I am very reckless with them dropping them everywhere and so the durability is also amazing. From others that I’ve seen that have better Sony headphones such as the XM series I would still buy these as they don’t seem to be different except in terms of build.

I bought these headphones for travel. The price was spot on for what I wanted. The sound is great, for me, and what has made a big difference is the app settings, controller etc., particularly the equalizer and custom settings so I would urge you to have a good play around in the app, try all the sound settings to get the best out of these headphones. Very happy.

Acheté il y a un mois, j'ai découvert les fonctionnalités de ce casque réducteur de bruit avec beaucoup de plaisir. L'assistance logicielle est très pratique et permet d'adapter au mieux le casque à son oreille et son environnement. On peut écouter sa musique sans avoir besoin d'augmenter le volume même en plein centre-ville.

Great value headphones

Bought these headphones after researching reasonably priced over-ear noise cancelling headphones. Being retired I will use these as much using the audio cable as Bluetooth. Some other headphones only offer noise cancelling on Bluetooth and some in this price range do not have it at all. I do not commute so many features will not be used. I hope that they work well on aircraft to improve the audio experience and reduce the noise level. So far I am very happy with the sound quality. Having a robust storage case is a massive bonus. The only negative is the pretty useless quick start guide and having 120+ pages of manual to search for proper guidance.

Top-Leistung Preis-Kombination. Das Kunststoffgehäuse macht sie natürlich billiger, obwohl sie genauso aussehen wie höhere Modelle und Kunststoff macht sie leichter, was ein großes Plus für diejenigen ist, die gerne stundenlang Musik hören. 20-30 Stunden mit einem vollen Akku helfen auch dabei!

They faithfully reproduce your audio to crisp, responsive audio frequency levels. They are extremely comfortable to wear throughout the day or night. The rigid design frame help to make the product more robust and practical for foldaway holiday storage or regular daily use. The extra bass level is highly noticeable, you may want to customise your preferences within the Sony Connect App, available for both Android or iOS platforms, to enhance your listening audio experience. J’ai acheté ce casque il y a 6 mois environ. J’en étais extrêmement content jusqu’à qu’il se casse alors qu’il était dans sa boîte. En ballotant dans mon sac, une pièce en plastique s’était cassé, détachant l’arceau de l’écouteur. Je l’ai immédiatement retourné au centre de réparation Sony convaincu que la casse n’était pas de mon fait et que la garantie couvrait cette pièce plastique de mauvais qualité. Pourtant non, la réparation m’étant proposé me coûtera 130€ (pour une pièce plastique). Ce casque est probablement le produit audio m’ayant le plus déçu, et le support n’est absolument pas conciliant. La qualité de cette pièce en plastique, pourtant nécessaire pour profiter du casque est très mauvaise et c’est le client qui paye après.

I was hesitant to buy this model just because it was not popular compared to the rest of the higher priced models of its type. Boy I was dead wrong. Thank heavens I did not buy the over priced higher models. The model lacks the aesthetic and cosmetic qualities of the higher models but more than makes up for punchy bass especially when using the Sony connect equalizer application. Multi device connectivity makes it practical and quick blue tooth connection is good. Immersive in audio experience without hurting the pocket. Don’t judge it by its looks

I always buy Sony headphones. Quality and ease of use at a good price is a Sony standard when it comes to their products for example, I bought 2 Sony tablets in 2013/14...and they still work.

Das Gerät sitzt sehr gut auf dem Kopf, ist nicht zu schwer und ist flexibel. Die Hörmuscheln enden unten an der Stelle, wo der Kiefer zum Nacken übergeht, was unangenehm werden kann, wenn man sie lange trägt oder z.B. kaut. Der Sound ist leider recht ernüchternd. Die Extra Bass Serien sind ja dafür bekannt, den Bass zu boosten. Allerdings wird der Sound dadurch recht matschig. Kenner können dies in der App per Equalizer bearbeiten und einigermaßen ausgleichen, jedoch kriegt man dadurch trotzdem keinen kristallklaren Sound. Die Mitten und Höhen sind zwar gut, aber nicht super. Insgesamt ist es für den Preis ein gutes Produkt, der Akku hält ausreichend lange, lädt schnell. Die Verarbeitung ist nicht Premium, aber auch nicht extrem billig. Gutes Mittelfeld. Allerdings nicht zu vergleichen mit neueren, teureren Geräten.

Superb all-round performance on a budget

I bought these headphones approx a month ago from Birthday money. I wanted a reliable brand for build quality and sonic experience. I had recently bought my daughter a pair of WH-1000XM4s and loved them. I love my Sony AG9 55" TV. So my baseline was set. I didn't take a good showing from Sony for granted, so read Nd watched many reviews and comparisons. On paper, these were a step above most in their 0rice point in most metrics. So I took the plunge and bought it. I love the case. The charging cable though is was too tiny and ineffective/impractical. The Headphone cable for wired listening though my Android is superb; butt you'll need an adapter if you have no 3.5mm sockets on board. I love the comfort of the fit on my head or my ears. The sound is plentiful and fairly balanced especially for an Extra Bass specification. The battery time is way better than what I had experienced previously. A great piece of kit. Thanks Sony

Happy with headphones

Great sounding headphones, light and comfortable with pretty good noise cancelling and extra active listening function so you can hear external noises clearly. Swipe functions on the side easy to use. They say extra bass and they do deliver on this. I prefer a more middle and less bass which is possible with these as the headphones app allows you to set your own custom frequency profile, as well as in app programme to help you choose if your not sure how to operate graphic equaliser. For £130 I would like them to have a touch more high end finish as they are mainly plastic and vinyl.

I've these headphones for a few weeks now. The sound is graet. BUT, What a surprise when I lent it to a friend next to me to listen to a voicenote only to realise that they are not private. Anyone next to me whole using these headphones could easily and clearly hear my telephone conversations or what music I'm listening to. I'm highly disappointed. For the cost I thought sony would be better.

J'ai acheté ce casque parque que mon Jabra85h est tombé en panne. Quand j'ai reçu ce casque j'avais un peu peur d'avoir pris moins bien que le Jabra...et ben Non !. Une des fonctions qui me plaisait le plus dans mon précédent casque était l'annulation du bruit, et bien force est de constaté que c'est encore mieux avec ce caque Sony. Pour ce qui de la qualité du son en lui même c'est plus que correcte pour mes oreilles d'amateur :-) Si on me demande je le conseillerai...a vrai dire je l'ai déjà fait ;-)
