Excellent Sound Quality and Noise Cancelling

The Linkbuds S are a great pair of ear buds. They're light and comfortable and feel far more secure in my ears than other buds I have owned. The sound quality is excellent. The noise cancelling feature is superb too, as is the ambient mode. All calls I made using these buds were clear and I had no problem connecting them to different devices. The Sony Headphones App was great to use with these as it lets you change the sound settings of your headphones and also lets you check the battery levels in each ear bud and the charging case too! The charging case is well designed and great for travel. Great ear buds.

I am not happy with these earbuds. They say you can control volume, start/stop, and noise-cancelling mode from the buds - and that is true, but only two of those functions at a time. There is no option to have all three functions active at once, because of the weird way Sony "groups" the ear-bud controls together - I don't need commands they force you to add in with the noise cancelling control, like start spotify or some other app I never use, but there is no way to e.g. replace the function of those commands with volume up and down. So half the commands are taken up by functions I don't need, but I can't replace them with the functions I DO need. You can only swap in and out 'groups' of functions - and volume up/down, noise cancelling on/off, and start/stop controls are in 3 different 'groups' - so you have to choose between two of those functions (plus all the extra ones in each group, even if you don't want those extra functions). If Sony fixed this I would like the buds a lot. As it is I can't operate them without physically getting my phone out, which is useless. A wasted purchase. It's also really annoying that if you select start/stop to be available on one earbud, you can't disable the track forward/backward function that sits in the same group. I don't know how many times I ended up forwarding multiple tracks when I put the buds into or out of my ear - which when you listen to podcasts is incredibly annoying because of how hard it then is to find your place again...

I purchased the Sony LinkBuds S as my Sony WH-CH710N Noise Cancelling Wireless Bluetooth NFC Over-Ear Headphones had issues with the cheap design of the headband. I was concerned about these headphones failing or falling apart. The LinkBuds S seem to be better made than the WH-CH710N.

The Sony Linkbuds S wireless noise cancelling ear buds are a great size, fit really well (with a choice of ear insert sizes) and are always secure either out and about or in the gym. Battery life is ideal for listening to my favourite sings when pottering in the garden or even at work when doing some online training. The noise-cancelling works well keeping wind noise down when making and receiving phone calls. They are water resistant but that isn’t a concern for me as when it rains I have my hood up to keep the rain out, or use an umbrella. They come with a nice charging case and in a choice of colours which is I think is better than ordinary black or white – I’ve chosen the eco-friendly pair in an 'Earth Blue' finish that is made from recycled water dispenser bottles. It was very straight forward connecting them to my android mobile and it’s great being able to control them by tapping the outside, which I’m just getting used to. I have installed the Sony Headphones Connect app on my mobile which I think everyone should do as it lets you see the charge for each earbud and the charging case plus it’s the only way to get updates for the device. I just hope people don’t mind me dancing and singing down the shopping aisles whilst listening to my favourite songs but they might complain at my singing!! A great choice for earbuds.

Worst Bluetooth connectivity

I have never seen such a bad Bluetooth connection in a headset. I was just compromised for the excellent noise cancellation during calls. When connecting to the headset, always it was not seamless, I was using Xperia 1 ii mobile. If this was the connectivity experience for Sony mobiles itself, I can't imagine how bad it would be for other mobile users. The app for this Headset (Sony headphones) is also having a very bad user interface. I hope that Sony could fix theses connectivity issues in an update. Please contact me if you really wants to listen to the customers.

J'ai essentiellement acquis ces écouteurs pour la réduction de bruit en milieu industriel. On sent bien qu'ils ne sont pas fait pour, mais ils se sortent très honorablement de cette tâche. Les hautes fréquences malheureusement très présentes dans mon environnement restent audibles, bien que très atténuées. La réduction de bruit passive est déjà très performante, la réduction de bruit active vient la compléter. Ils sont très confortables. J’avais quelques appréhensions sur ce point, ayant eu par le passé une mauvaise expérience avec des intra auriculaires. J’ai quelques difficultés à les insérer, mais je pense que la morphologie de mes conduits auditifs n’y est pas étrangère… Cependant, je parviens à les positionner correctement, sans gène, même pour un port long. Attention toutefois à la fonction ‘Détermination des embouts d’oreillette’. Cette fonction que je trouve très utile et qui m’obsède un peu il faut bien l’avouer, est très tatillonne. Lors des premières utilisations, je m’appliquais à obtenir un résultat validé par l’application, reprenait le positionnement à plusieurs reprises, les enfonçais toujours plus loin dans mes oreilles jusqu’à l’obtention des deux petites coches. Hors je me suis aperçu qu’immédiatement après les avoir inséré (correctement… ) le test revient souvent négatif, et positif quelques minutes plus tard sans y avoir touché. Il n’est donc pas nécessaire pour ceux comme moi qui privilégient la réduction de bruit de se martyriser les oreilles pour satisfaire au test. Placer les correctement et faîtes le test une bonne quinzaine de minutes plus tard. Cet inconvénient s’est estompé dans le temps, et je parviens aujourd’hui à réussir le test dès la première mise en place… Soit je suis plus habile, sois mes oreilles se sont habituées, soit les embouts se sont formés… Le son est vraiment bon, même sans jouer avec l’égaliseur. Il est vraiment riche sans basse assourdissante, il reste possible de le paramétrer à sa sauce. L’application est très complète, intuitive, et se fond totalement dans l’environnement Apple. Les gestes de navigation ne dérouteront pas les utilisateurs d’iPhone. Un petit regret cependant concernant la personnification des boutons tactiles, qui restent paramétrables, mais seulement avec des combinaisons pré-déterminées par Sony. Il n’est pas possible de leur faire faire ce que l’on veut. Quoi qu’il en soit, les boutons tactiles fonctionnent très bien, et l’ergonomie des oreillettes permet de les insérer sans y toucher. Vous pourrez donc les placer et les retirer sans démarrer et arrêter 10 fois la musique!!! Autre point très positif, elles ne dépassent pas de l’oreille. Pour les personnes comme moi qui les utiliseront en milieu professionnel autre qu’un bureau, c’est un atout de taille. Elles ne s’accrochent pas partout, tiennent très bien dans les oreilles, il y a donc peu de chances de les perdre. La fonction ‘Parler pour chatter’ fait aussi des merveilles pour cette utilisation. Question autonomie, elle est plus que respectable. Voici mon utilisation quotidienne: 2h de port, 10 min de charge, 2h de port, 30 min de charge, 3h de port, 10 min de charge, et enfin 2h de port. En fin de cette journée type, l’application m’indique environ 60% de charge pour les écouteurs et 70% pour le boitier. Je précise que les charges se font par le boitier, que ce dernier ne voit pas de prise de courant de la journée, et que la réduction de bruit est active. Comptez 4h d’écoute Youtube pour atteindre 20% de charge des oreillettes. Ce seuil est signalé lorsqu’il est atteint. L’utilisation en communication est excellente, les interlocuteurs bénéficient de la réduction de bruit, et visiblement elle est bluffante. Ils ne vous entendent pas vaper (les vapoteurs comprendront ce que je veux dire 😁), ils n’entendent pas non plus le ronronnement de la voiture… Un autre point fort de ces écouteurs. J’ai pu constater quelques bugs, notamment une déconnection de l’écouteur droit, qui se décharge plus vite que le gauche, et des fonctions qui se désactivent sans qu’on ne leur demande (la fonction ‘parler pour chatter’ en particulier). Je vous conseille si vous utilisez cette fonction de vérifier qu’elle est active à chaque utilisation. Un point très désagréable, assez inadmissible d’une entreprise comme Sony: il est très difficile de trouver des embouts d’oreillettes de remplacement! Ça paraît incroyable, mais j’en fais les frais actuellement. On en trouve assez facilement pour les 1000XM4, mais pas pour ce modèle. Autre chose, je ne veux pas acheter une panoplie complète d’embouts de toutes tailles, la taille que j’utilise me suffit… J’espère que l’équipe Sony me lira! Pour conclure, je trouve que ces Linkbuds S sont d’excellents produits, vraiment performants, et parfaits pour mon utilisation. Je les recommande vivement pour toutes les raisons citées précédemment. Je suggérerais même à Sony de leur faire passer une accréditation pour le milieu professionnel. Ce type d’oreillettes est assez mal apprécié dans ce milieu, en cas de prévention de danger notamment. Hors la réduction de bruit paramétrable et la fonction ‘Parler pour chatter’ réduisent considérablement à mon sens ce qui peut leur être reproché. Ils sont de mon point de vue plus efficaces que les casques anti bruit ‘normés’ en terme de réduction de bruit, et rendent l’interaction plus simple avec les autres personnes. Peut être une piste à creuser….

Had them a month now and although the sound quality is really good they very easily work their way out of my ears, often falling completely out. Have tried the different size silicones that come with them but it makes no difference. Also, when pushing them back in it thinks I'm doing a "tap once" and pauses the music. Very frustrating.

I recently purchased the LinkBuds S for everyday use. For the first couple of days it was okay, but I quickly noticed several issues (this is within 8 days of purchase). 1. Occasionally the left earbud would cut off for a few seconds. This issue would happen a few times a day, and got progressively more severe as I used them. 2. The ANC got progressively more static-y, to the point where music was drowned out by the noise. It started at a normal ANC level, and progressed to unacceptable levels. 3. (and my main problem) The headphones would randomly create an extremely high pitched ring in either bud. This progressed to whenever ANC was on (this would reset when the buds were placed in the case, but randomly start again). It was a genuinely painful noise. I'm someone who is more susceptible to hearing loss than others, so this was a genuine concern while using them. I contacted customer support and was asked to send off my product for repairs (the earbuds I had owned for 8 days total). There was no acknowledgement to the fact that the device was faulty. Considering that repairs could have taken up to 2 weeks, (and put me dangerously close to my return deadline) I opted to just return them. The headphones themselves (without the defects) are okay, but I have found better elsewhere. The app is useful, has simple but helpful controls. The touch controls are fairly limited, especially since the left bud only controls ANC. The audio quality is decent. The earbud fit is very specific, so if the buds don't fit you, tough luck. They slipped out rather easily for me, after trying all the available tips. The case is okay, the texture is quite nice, but the hinge feels a bit flimsy. They charge fast however. Overall, if you don't mind risking a defective product that you might have to send away for repairs, it's an okay product in that regard. That being said, there are definitely better products on the market, so it might be worth looking around. Personally I wouldn't recommend this product due to my overall experience.

You can indeed use the stop/start with the noise-cancelling at the same time, but then the volume control will need to be done using your phone. The 3 functions can't be assigned at the same time, as you only have two ear buds.

I bought this a few months ago and I have been very happy using this product. The noise cancellation works very well. The only drawback that I found, was registering new devices when there are already two device registered, this function could be made simpler. But switching between the two already registered devices is great, which cannot be said for some of the more expensive ear pods out there.

Best pass through I've ever experienced.

I have a pair of Samsung Buds, Apple wireless ear bud knockoff, and these Sony Link Buds S. The sound quality with the Sony out performs the others in every category. The caveat that moves me to my Samsung Buds overall is the very short battery capacity of my Link Buds S. Right ear goes first. The result of a low battery for my pair seen to be a chopping sound in the right earbud. The effect is harmful to my inner ear, so I remove them at the first sign. First time it happened, I ignored it. This resulted in several short bursts that felt like my ear getting boxed, followed by a feedback squelch that left me disoriented for a second. If it weren't for that, they would have received 5 stars from me.

Quality modern headphones

I upgraded to Sony LinkBuds S from a product of another reputable maker, and I am very happy with the choice! I finally have usable mic quality for the calls. Modern connectivity with multi-point saves me the trouble of device switching, and LC3 codec is coming. The blue design looks nice and suits my eyes well. There are some minor issues and I wish for more flexible controls configuration.

Link Buds funktionieren sehr gut aber die sind ganz fumelisch zu behandlen. Der case ist sehr rutschig und ich finde das noise cancelling könnte besser sein.

The sound is magnificent, but the noise reduction is negligible, I can't tell if it's connected or not, unlike the headband model that I have in which it's perfectly noticeable. In the APP I change from noise reduction to ambient noise and there is no difference. On some occasions, especially when the connection is not WIFI, the left earphone disconnects for a few moments several times.

Seit 3 Wochen in Gebrauch und ich muss sagen ganz toll. Man merkt es so gut wie gar nicht beim Tragen. Super Komfortabel mit der App und der Sound ist Dank mehrerer Voreinstellungen Top. Wenn der Akku hält mindestens drei Stunden bei mir,danach nur ein paar Minuten Laden und weiter geht's. Ich würde sie wieder kaufen.

First ir good sound. And they are perfectly laying in ears. I can dance, run, walk, drive and they stays in ear. Very Manu settings with application, way how to use them like you want. But wanted settings for navigation of each earphone like I want. For example, to make one tap on right - next song, one tap of left - previous. It's not possible. But good that I can make other section of funkcions on each earphone. It's better than nothing. Set on left volume control. Very good that I can see battery level on each earphone and for charger. I used it for work week when I needed to put it on charge. Still want function when earphones are changing place and movement mode without any sound. It's short, but still it is, making short moment of less music volume. And they still not detected me at my home as at home, but maybe it's problem with my country. I'm working on transport and only sometimes use it like passenger. They detects that I'm using tranposrt, but today will work at night, where I don't have radio, will use my earphones for music. Will change noise reduction mode to hear my passengers and engine while driving. Till this day there is full around noise canceling, bet I see, that I can change it and listen to music and still hear what's going around. That's very nice that I can change it in any time, like I need for this moment or day. For first two days loved how works pause when I start to talk. Then I found that they making pusē even when I clean my tooths (lave electric toothbrush), when I want to sing the song what I hear, even when I sniffing. So turned Ir function off and when I go to work and need to talk it's more simple to me put music on pause, noise canceling is still working for talking so I hear better other people. But now I can even sing or think loudly, I'm still hearing music. It's good that I can turn this function on or off. And I very love design. For them have very original color like no one before. On streets I didn't see anything like these. Black, white, sometimes beige, but blue till this day didn't saw.

I bought these at wal-mart , super light and slips right on in my ear, feels like there's nothing at all. setting up the app for the earbuds took a few minutes, but sound is phenomenal. I traditionally had not been an "earbuds" person. I often found them uncomfortable or poorly fitting, and as such hadn't used them in a long time, opting for over-the-ear style. However, the LinkBuds S changed my perspective on buds, and it all comes down to how light they are and how easily they go into your ear. Sony nailed it in this regard, and the comfort has removed my stigma on earbuds. Sound quality is great, but the standout feature for me is the Adaptive Sound Control for noise cancelling and ambient sound. The Headphones Connect app has a lot of features and settings adjustments to manipulate noise cancelling behavior based on what you're doing and where you are - and considering the mobility of the LinkBuds S, I found this to be a killer feature.

Höchster Tragekomfort, aber leider mit Rauschen

Musik- und Videowidergabe haben ein sonytypisch hohes Niveau. Leider schwächelt der Akku schon nach zwei Stunden, down bis auf 20%, wo andere Kopfhörer in dieser Preiskategorie schon werkseitig bis zu 8-9 Stunden Laufzeit versprechen. Auch das Deaktivieren von LDAC und DSSE verringert den Akkuverbrauch so gut wie gar nicht. Durch den sehr leichten Akku, erreichen diese InEars von Sony dagegen aber ein außergewöhnlichen hohen Tragekomfort. Man bemerkt sie selbst nach einer Stunde kaum und selbst mit den kleineren Silikonüberzügen rutschen diese Kopfhörer auch bei Cardioübungen nicht, was sie durchaus gymtauglich macht. Ein großer Minuspunkt dagegen ist das Grundrauschen bei Telefongesprächen, bisweilen auch Videocalls. Was sie leider vollkommen officeuntauglich macht, was bei InEar-Kopfhörern dieser Tage eigentlich schon ein KnockOut-Kriterium ist.

love the size and fit

I bought this product about three weeks ago to replace buds which were far too big to stay in my ears. I love the noise cancelling facilty, and the auto change when speaking to someone. I dont like the fact that most times whatever I was listening too does not begin replay automatically. I also miss being able to adjust volume using the buds, or being able to use either bud independently of the other. However, all of the above are not a deal breaker. If there was one thing I would have liked to see was the waterproof capability of some other brands.

As for replaying the music automatically, this feature is related to the connected device not the headphones.
We'd also like to highlight that you can change the function assignments to the touch sensors of the left and right units using the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. For example, the music playback function that is assigned to the touch sensor of the right unit in the factory settings can be changed to the touch sensor of the left unit.
You can also change the settings that do not assign the music playback function, noise canceling function, Ambient Sound Mode and playback volume adjustment function, etc as clarified here: http://bit.ly/3xxWN0W & http://bit.ly/3xyyEHB
Moreover, by default, you should be able to use the right or left earbud by itself. However, if the voice assistant setting on the Headphones Connect app is changed from the default setting to Google or Amazon Alexa, only the side with the touch sensor function assigned can be used by itself. And for most Android phones, if you click the pop-up notification and finish the Google set-up, the voice assistant will be automatically changed to Google Assistant.
If you want to switch sides, please change the touch sensor function on the Headphones Connect app as clarified in the above link.

Voila une semaine que j'ai cette paire de True Wireless et je ne regrette pas ! Ils sont très léger et confortable, ce qui assure un super maintien dans la vie de tous les jours. Ils se font même oublier lorsqu'on les portes. La boite est petite également donc parfait pour le transport. Globalement ça m'a l'air plutôt solide. Le son est plutôt bon et la réduction de bruit est satisfaisante mais pas les meilleurs du marché. L'application est super avec la possibilité de régler l'EQ, le mode transparent, un mode de réduction de bruit adaptatif. Et la cerise sur le gâteau, le Bluetooth multipoint a été ajouté il n'y a pas longtemps via une mise à jour (pensez à faire les mises à jour !). Ce qui me permet de les connecter à mon ordinateur et mon smartphone en même temps et ils peuvent switcher automatiquement ou manuellement très facilement. Point positif : Poids léger Confort impeccable Application simple et riche en fonctionnalités Bluetooth multipoint Mode transparent agréables Son équilibré mais... Point négatif Pas le meilleur son / réduction de bruit. comparé aux WF-1000XM4 par exemple c'est en dessous mais le gain en confort fait que je préfère ces Linkbuds S a 100% Son de transition entre mode transparent et réduction de bruit aurait pu être un peu plus doux.

J’ai acheté cet produit depuis 3 mois le premier mois fonctionne très bien par contre au au bout d’utilisation continue de 3h dans mes oreilles les écouteurs fait des bruits très désagréables carrément abusif et tellement Acouphène fissuré pour les oreilles !! Maintenant à chaque fois quand je mets le mode réduction de bruit l’écouteur gauche commence à faire des bruits bizarres..

Ich bin absolut begeistert. Vor knapp einem Monat gekauft und keinen Tag bereut. Es sind meine dritten Sony In-Ear“. Vor Jahren mit den WF-1000XM3 begonnen. Dann zu den ersten LinkBuds gewechselt. Damals dachte ich, den Tragekomfort kann man nicht steigern. - Falsch ! Es geht ! Und jetzt noch mit überwältigendem Klang, den ich sonst nur von Over-Ear gewohnt bin zusammen mit exzellentem Noisecancelling. Sehr gut ist auch die appunterstützte Größenbestimmung der „Ohrstöpsel“ für optimale Rauschunterdrückung und Passgenauigkeit. Absolut zu empfehlen!!! Fünf Sterne von mir. *****

I've been using the Linkbuds S for 3 months. The sound is very good and I can wear them all day without feeling discomfort (which is a great bonus). I'm experiencing connectivity issues, which is where they lose a star, but overall I recommend the earbuds.

Ich habe sich zum Vergleich den WF-1000XM4. Ehrlich gesagt gibt es, ausser der wesentlich schöneren Größe kaum Unterschiede. Klang und ANC sind hervorragend. Spart euch das Geld für den teureren WF-1000XM4.

Great headphones let down by battery life

These headphones have fantastic sound qualities but it is let down by a 8 hour battery life which in real terms with adaptive sound control and noise cancelling switched on this is reduced to maybe 5 hours

Très bon produit

Ces écouteurs Sony LinkBuds S sont mini et léger on ne les ressent quasiment pas dans les oreilles. La finition de la version Bleu Océan est top, bon touché boitier agréable et léger se fond dans la poche comme si de rien état. Avec une excellente qualité de son et une bonne autonomie, on regrettera le manque de basse que Sony nous a habitué a beaucoup mieux, mais vu le poids plus des LinkBuds S cela n'est pas étonnant. La réduction de bruit est un peu limite, désactivé on entend légèrement les sont environnant et quand la réduction de bruit est active tout les sons ne sont pas bien filtrés. Les assistances vocales sont bien venues et très réactive sans oublié les multitudes d'option et réglages du son qui permettent de réglé les écouteurs aux petits oignons et une expérience 360 Reality Audio au top!

I love these earbuds!

Received as a Christmas present and i really love them. They are very small and light and very comfortable to wear. The charging case is alao small, light and neat and has a nice textured finish. Battery life is excellent. The sound quality is really good and can be personalised via the excellent Headphones Connect app. I love that you can control playback and the excellent noise cancelling function by simply tapping the earbuds. Different functions are controlled by tapping left or right and these have to be learned and remembered but they work really well and its so quick and easy. Great performance and great value for money, what's not to like? U would highly recommend.

Everything is fine. I appreciate the shape. But it will be better to have option to set up one earbud with noise cancelling and volume control together. The option for the same earbud in app is only NC or volume.

Je précise que je ne suis pas Mélomane donc ce n'est pas sur ce point de vue que je donne mon avis. Les LinkBuds S m'impressionnent par leur qualité, leur confort et le réduction de bruit. Je n'avais d'écouteur avec cette fonction avant et je les ai choisi suite à mes recherches sur le net. Grâce à l'appli j'ai pu choisir les bons embouts (un large d'un coté, un medium de l'autre). Une fois bien positionnés je n'entends plus les bruits de train, ni mes enfants qui s'ébrouent dans la maison quand je suis en télétravail. D'ailleurs, le connexion multipoint bien que pas 100% au point est un plus bienvenu Ils sont légers et confortable. Question endurance, je n'ai pas à me plaindre. Pour ce qui est du rendu sonore, j'en suis aussi très satisfait même en appel. Je peux regarder des videos dans le train quand je vais au travail sans avoir à monter le son très haut.
