Had to settle for the black ones since the silver/white ones I really wanted were not available. Other than that, these items are great. Sound quality is awesome, full bass, especially when you use them with the LDAC codec. Unfortunately this high quality codec is only available at the expense of multipoint Bluetooth connection, hope Sony makes it possible to connect multiple devices while still using LDAC. The noise cancelling is great, creates a scary silence around you lol.

Excellent sound quality. You can hear parts in music that has been inaudible on cheaper headphones or speakers. Sound cancelling works extremely well. Connects easily to my PC (with a Bluetooth dongle), phone and tablet.

Sind meine zweiten Overear von Sony. Die sehr gute App-Unterstützung holt noch das letzte Quäntchen Sound heraus. Alle Gute , weshalb ich die WH1000XM3 so geliebt habe, ist noch etwas besser! Die Geräuschunterdrückung ist wieder absolute Spitzenklasse. Und der Sound (Hörgeräte-Träger!) dank Equalizer auch für mich erstklassig. Einziges Manko ist, das es sich nicht um einen parametrischen EQ handelt und mein Kennlinienknick genau zwischen dem 2,5kHz und dem 6kHz Regler liegt. Und mit Hörgeräten im Ohr ist ein Overear nicht gerade angenehm! Ansonsten klare Kaufempfehlung!

I bought these to replace my three year old Bose QC 35's, whose battery was dying. They had served me well and I couldn't fault them. When I received the Sony headphones, I was astonished by how much better they were than my previous pair. I took time setting them up via the Sony Connect app and now, I could fully appreciate them, the sound quality is superb, the lightness when wearing them was amazing. No other headphone in this price range even comes close.

I've only had the headphones for a couple of weeks but early impressions are they are excellent. The fit is very comfortable on the top of the head and the noise counselling is just outstanding when compared to my old Bose headphones (which admittedly must be 10 years old and are still superb). Listening to music on them is also very good but you do need to use the app in order to get the best sound. The only thing I dislike about them is the fact that they don't fold up, rather than just fold flat.

En voyant le casque puis en le prenant entre mes mains, j’ai eu plusieurs sensations. Le casque est extrêmement léger. Le casque est magnifique, je l’ai également trouvé très atypique. C’est un casque que l’on reconnaitra immédiatement, sans le confondre avec un autre. On voit immédiatement qu’il n’y a plus de charnière pour plier le casque. En effet ce casque ne se plie pas comme le font la plupart des autres casques. Je trouve deux avantages à ce changement : on évite des casses accidentelles en essayant de le plier et on le range dans sa housse beaucoup plus rapidement que si on devait le plier. Afin de régler la taille de l’arceau nous avons droit à ce que j’appellerai des pistons. Des pistons qui glissent silencieusement dans un arceau qui est très mince. Un peu trop même (2 cm environ). En effet, il est tellement fin que l’on aperçoit des boursouflures à l’endroit où les pistions finissent leurs courses. Je suis un peu maniaque mais je trouve que cela fait un peu disgracieux pour un casque de cette gamme (chère) de prix. J’apprécie énormément malgré tout que l’on puisse manipuler et ajuster les écouteurs sans faire le moindre bruit, c’est vraiment hallucinant !! Sur l’écouteur droit nous trouvons un port USB-C pour la recharge uniquement, un voyant qui s’allume lorsque le casque est en charge, 4 microphones répartis sur tout le contour de l’écouteur pour la réduction de bruit et pour les appels téléphoniques. Cet écouteur droit possède également un panneau de commandes tactiles afin de gérer le volume, les pistes audios et les appels téléphoniques Sur l’écouteur de gauche, nous avons le port jack audio 3.5 mm pour une utilisation filaire, 4 microphones, un bouton « Marche/Arrêt » et un bouton « réduction de bruit, mode Ambiant (NC/AMB) ». Par contre, par rapport aux anciennes versions du casque, le capteur de présence, qui stoppe la lecture lorsque le casque est retiré des oreilles, a disparu ou plutôt il n’est plus visible. Les deux écouteurs sont dotés de coussinets à mémoire de forme en cuir que je trouve un peu trop minces et trop souples. Dans la globalité, ce casque SONY WH-1000M5 est d’une qualité de fabrication irréprochable. On n’aime ou pas cette couleur mais ce casque a le mérite de se démarquer de la concurrence. Le nouveau système de réglage de l’arceau est assez réussi esthétiquement même s’il engendre des défauts, du moins à mon avis. La qualité audio est extraordinaire !! J’utilise des applications de streaming qui diffusent du son en HD voire en ULTRA HD avec notamment Amazon Music Unlimited. Le son est clair, riche, avec beaucoup de relief. Les basses sont profondes, les médiums équilibrés et très clairs, les aigus sont très précis et fins. Les médiums sont également très précis. Il y a beaucoup d’énergie et de dynamisme dans le son également. Même si les basses et les aigus sont réglés au maximum, le son reste agréable. Les basses ne bavent pas. Le casque nous délivre un son qui devient presque envoutant, on se laisse aller, c’est vraiment très agréable ! Cette qualité audio est bluffante surtout en utilisant le codec LDAC. Le casque est donc compatible HI-Res Audio avec ou sans fil. Par contre, lorsqu’on utilise le casque en connexion filaire, le son est nettement moins dynamique, moins chaleureux, plus fade., moins immersif. Le confort est son plus gros point faible. Personnellement au bout de quelques minutes d’utilisation je dois retirer le casque car la pression est trop forte sur mes oreilles. Mes oreilles sont en contact avec les parois internes des écouteurs et cela me gêne beaucoup même après quelques minutes seulement d’utilisation. Les coussinets tiennent très chaud et les coussinets deviennent moites avec la transpiration. Ce n’est pas au niveau de l’arceau qui est gênant mais bien au niveau des oreilles. Je suis vraiment déçu par le confort du casque. On a beau avoir une qualité audio extraordinaire l’inconfort gâche beaucoup le plaisir. Le Contrôle adaptatif du son est vraiment bien. Le casque (ou plutôt l’application) adapte ses réglages en fonction de l’environnement dans lequel nous évoluons. La réduction de bruit, le mode ambiant seront adaptés également à notre activité suivant si nous sommes à l’arrêt, si nous marchons, si nous courrons et si nous sommes dans les transports en commun. Nous pouvons également ajuster automatiquement les paramètres en fonction du lieu où nous sommes. Cette fonctionnalité est vraiment pratique et impressionnante. La réduction de bruit est exceptionnelle. C’est bluffant !!! L’isolation passive du casque est déjà très bonne voire excellente. Même le casque éteint, on n’entend déjà presque plus rien. On n’entend quasiment plus aucun bruit extérieur ni de voix extérieures. Nous sommes vraiment coupés du monde extérieur. Du coup nous ne sommes pas obligés de mettre le volume fort pour n’entendre que la musique, ce qui est une excellente chose pour notre audition. Le Mode Ambiant et Quick Attention sont bons également ! On peut régler le niveau du mode ambiant. Celui-ci peut-être également activé en posant sa main sur l’écouteur droit. Cette fonctionnalité est également géniale et pratique quand quelqu’un nous parle et que l’on veut entendre ce que l’on nous dit sans devoir enlever le casque de sa tête. On peut également paramétrer le mode ambiant pour que les voix soient privilégiées. Je n’ai pas chronométré le temps d’utilisation mais l’autonomie annoncée est de 30 heures avec réduction de bruit active et 40 heures, réduction de bruit désactivée. SONY annonce que 3 minutes de charge équivalent à 3 heures d’autonomie en plus. Mais pour cela il faudra acheter un adaptateur supplémentaire. Je suis très satisfait de l’autonomie de ce casque. La Connexion multipoint est également très pratique : On connecte une première fois deux appareils en Bluetooth. Ensuite, on pourra passer d’un appareil à un autre sans avoir à les reconnecter. L’inconvénient est que la connexion Bluetooth utilisera automatiquement le codec AAC. Du coup je trouve la qualité sonore moins bonne avec ce codec AAC. La connexion Bluetooth est son second point faible. Ayant un smartphone qui tourne sous Android, j’essaie autant que possible de privilégier le codec LDAC qui m’offre une qualité audio optimale. Lorsque j’écoute des fichiers audios en qualité Ultra HD avec Amazon Music Unlimited, la connexion en Bluetooth avec LDAC n’est pas stable du tout, même le smartphone placé à quelques centimètres du casque. Le son se détériore énormément, la connexion sature. Je me retrouve alors obligé de prioriser la stabilité de la connexion à la qualité sonore et cela me déçoit beaucoup. Niveau CODEC, nous avons du SBC, du AAC et du LDAC. « Parler pour chatter » est une fonctionnalité excellente et très pratique !!! La lecture s’arrête lorsqu’on commence à parler, sans retirer le casque. La lecture reprend automatiquement après un temps défini (5 secondes, 15 secondes, 30 secondes ou désactivé). En conclusion, je suis globalement ravi de ce casque qui m’a beaucoup fait rêver depuis que j’ai appris sa sortie. Même si sa qualité audio, sa réduction de bruit active et certaines de ses fonctionnalités m’ont beaucoup bluffé ce casque m’a également un peu déçu par son inconfort et comme je l’ai écrit plus haut, cela gâche un peu mon plaisir. Sa connexion en Bluetooth est également un peu décevante. Ce casque est vraiment atypique, il est vraiment différent des autres par son design original. Sa couleur « Argent platine » m’interpelle un peu mais elle est, elle aussi, très originale. Je recommande tout de même ce casque qui presque parfait et exceptionnel !

Really good, exceptional in most aspects, sound quality is unreal, however product feels slightly flimsy and is not water resistant (which would be nice) . Other than that would definitely recommend

Mam je asi mesic, pokukoval jsem po nich uz ale temer pul roku (porad byly drahe). Zvuk je uzasny, pohlti vas. Sluchatka se prijemne nosi, jako vite o nich, ale neni to nic hrozneho. Co mi kazi dojem je chybici funkce mute pro skypovani (sony no tak, mela by to byt jenom sw zalezitost a na forech to lidi zadaji) a mozno lepsi ambient mod pri telefonovani (sebe slysim s full ambient mene, nez me okoli). Snad se dockame vylepseni.

Le XM5 est un excellent casque à réduction de bruit active et j'en suis globalement très satisfaite. Cependant l'arceau n'est pas suffisamment adapté pour les "petites têtes" et du coup le casque a tendance à glisser : c'est un peu dommage pour un casque haut de gamme Par ailleurs les boutons ne sont pas suffisamment accessibles lorsque comme moi on a des difficultés de motricité fine. Il faut donc un certain temps d'adaptation

My word what superb sound quality these bad boys offer, the LDAC really makes a difference. Not a heavy headset so i makes for comfortable long sessions without getting sore on my head. Just purchased the new A306 Walkman so when that arrives from the guys at Sony then i am sure it will be a fantastic experience.

This is the best pair of noise cancelling headphones I have ever tried. Before getting these, I researched and tried almost every popular headphones in the price range and finally decided to stick to Sony. I should say so far, I am really impressed and happy with my purchase decision. Sound quality is excellent and noise cancellation is exceptional. Would have preferred to see an easily replaceable ear cushion but I hope that's nothing to be concerned about now. Audio output is a bit on the bass heavy side which I personally love but you can easily tweak it in the amazing companion app. Overall one of the best audio products I have ever own.

I bought these headphones to replace my 1000xm3s and xm5s are better in every way. Build quality is excellent, sound quality is crystal clear with the right amount of bass, noise cancelling is the best I’ve heard and the case is really nice. I gave mine around 24 hours of burn in time to judge them properly. Call quality is also excellent on these. From my brief experience, the pause when speaking worked every time, however on one occasion it did activate when someone was talking in the background. The new ear cushions Sony has put on these make them one of the most comfortable headphones I have tried and they are firm enough that they don’t feel like they are about to fall off. Connecting to android or Sony Walkman gives the best experience as they support LDAC for much higher bit rates, you can immediately tell the difference when listening to high quality sources such as Amazon Music HD. Overall I am very happy with these headphones and they have exceeded my expectations; I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone looking for wireless bluetooth headphones. The headphones also came in plastic free packaging, nice touch Sony!

Hatte Schon den ...4 und war sehr zufrieden. Bei dem ...5 ist noch eine Schippe draufgelegt worden. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Die Berührungssteuerung ist stabiler geworden und der Klang, insbesondere bei 360 RA, ist hervorragend! Ich liebe das.

Upgraded from XM3’s and noticed the difference. Design is smaller and more comfortable and sound quality has improved even though it was excellent on the XM3’s. Worth the upgrade.

The sound quality is excellent. Headphones are comfortable to wear and are simple and intuitive to operate (I am 59 and not a tec savvy youngster!). Well done Sony!
