Excellent Clock Radio!

Very good product. Not too bright and easy to see in the dark. Sounds good too for as small as it is. Easy to set and very small and compact. Replaced my prior Sony clock radio that was so dim you could barely see the time, owned it for almost 10 years before it got dim.

Having a Sony clock radio for the past thirty years, I chose a Sony again, a cube clock radio. A nice looking product, but was very disappointed in the product. It is so fiddly to set the time. The radio doesn't stay on the same station, every time you switch it on it needs retuned. More importantly it does not keep the correct time.

The design particularly the print near the button are hard to read. The buttons are quite small. I tried the alarm for a month and the sound wasn’t enough to wake me up. I’d say go back and remanufacture the reliable models(icf-c218, c211, c318) and just do a few revisions like adding a usb port to charge a phone, time display color(green, red, blue, white),& alarm sound options from classic alarm(think of alarm sounds in previous models mentioned) to modern(custom),& display brightness dimming.

Excellent value for money. Super easy to use. You can plug it in and it's ready to go! However, I miss the early 2000s designs of Sony Dream Machines. This product is a little conservative, but it still looks like a Sony product. For the price and performance, it earns 5 stars. 👍

A replacement for a 20 year old cube but in white. Still getting used to the display colour change to a shade of orange, still can be read across the room but for me now better with glasses on otherwise a hint fuzzy around the edges. Plugging in didn’t result in the time appearing as expected but flashing ‘0:00’ which made me think that supplied battery was flat as the note in the initial instructions indicated was possible etc. So visited excellent dealer who passed directly to the setting up of time manually and all came to life.

The device has a constant 'humming' sound

I've had this clock radio for 4-days and it has constant hum sound when plugged into an outlet. It is not very loud but is still annoying. Other outlets were tried and still had the hum, and the wire was fully extended with same result. Trying to decide if it should be returned.

A humming sound can sometimes be caused by electrical interference. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
-Try moving the clock radio to a different location, away from other electronic devices like TVs, computers, or lamps. These devices can sometimes cause interference.
-Ensure the power adapter is securely and completely plugged into both the wall outlet and the clock radio's power input. A loose connection can sometimes cause an audible hum.

Terrific little clock radio

Just bought this to replace a previous Sony clock radio. Setup was easy as pie since the radio came with a button battery already installed, so the date, time, and time zone were already correct and the clock was actually running. The sound is really good for such a tiny, inexpensive radio. Only sketchy aspect is the tuning dial, which is analog, not digital. The stations are very close together on a tiny dial that is displayed through a tiny window and needs precise positioning to center on a radio station, being the reason for 4 starts instead of five. Since the tuning is analog there is no way to set presets. If the radio had digital tuning and preset ability it would be awesome, beyond five stars for the price.

The dual alarm version of this alarm clock has lasted me ten years, I am so used to its alarm that while searching for a replacement i was dissatisfied. I am buying another; love the ascending alarm volume and simplicity. Maybe one day they will bring back the dual alarm version.

This clock is worth every penny since this has all of the options you need from left to right, top to bottom. I will also note that this clock has a dimm option for if which you can turn up or down the brightness on the soft orange glow of the LED display. This clock also is AC current so no boxy power adapters that are needed for DC. This clock also has a AM/FM band on the radio and has a soft alarm that will get louder and louder as time gets. The clock also has a daylight savinng buttom that has a 1hr reset for each time a daylights saving day comes that should be banned since tractors at once have headlights. This also has a option for the time zone you were in - which is already ready from the factory. This clock is awesome and everyone needs one including you!!! 👍👍👍

Not as good as the model it replaced

The tuner is tricky to operate as it is an analogue control and I was used to presets. It is not very sensitive and I has to buy an extension for the antenna. I could not read the control functions on the casing as they were black on black, so I exchanged it for a white one.

Instructions challenging

This was a gift, replacing an identical product of mine that failed when dropped, so I was very familiar with the product's instructions how to install times, focus, lighting, time zones, etc.BUT, found the instructions still very difficult to follow (took over an hour to set up!!)

Fonctionne bien néanmoins les chiffres ne sont pas très net a cause de l'éclairage qui est assez fort Le mode éteint complet de l'heure aurais été super d'où la note 3 étoiles Ensuite il faut être vigilant car la radio a tendance à se déréglé tout seul donc attention a ce qui se réveille avec la radio Autrement j'aime bien le design

It doesn't take up a lot of space as it's tall rather than wide, which is an asset on a small bedside table. The sleep function at 90 minutes (and smaller increments) corresponds nicely with sleep cycles. It has three light levels so can be dimmed.

Purchased to replace another Sony (DAB) clock radio. The radio seems quite sensitive for fm reception despite having only a wire aerial. The tuner control however is quite coarse and tuning can take a while. The alarm reset is small and recessed into the case so tuning the radio off can take several attempts. But for the money it represents good value.
