We are very sorry to hear that your Sony UBP-X700 player is freezing during 4K disc playback. We understand how frustrating this can be, especially with new discs.

This issue is often resolved by refreshing the unit's internal memory. Please try the following steps in order:

1. Perform a Power Cycle:

- Unplug the UBP-X700 from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 2 minutes.
- Plug the player back in.
- Try playing a 4K disc again.

2. Perform a Factory Reset:

If the Power Cycle does not resolve the issue, a Factory Reset will revert all settings to their original state:

- Go to the player's main Setup menu.
- Select Resetting.
- Select Reset to factory default settings.
- Select All Settings.
- Select Start and then Done.
- Turn off the player for about 1 minute and then turn it back on.
- Try playing a 4K disc again.

3. Contact Technical Support:

If the freezing issue persists after performing both the Power Cycle and the Factory Reset, we recommend you contact our technical support team for further help.

While it does support popular streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video, it may not offer the extensive range of apps found on dedicated streaming devices or smart TVs. We recommend using the UBP-X700 primarily for its excellent disc playback capabilities and considering a dedicated streaming device if you require a broader selection of streaming apps.
