This is a remarkable lens. Good value for money. Nice and light on the camera. Seems well constructed. Having given it a test run, in the garden, I find the resultant images to be very acceptable, considering its price. Very happy with this product.

Lense is so bad, and out of focus (auto or manual) that it just takes up space in camera case now. Pics cant even be photoshopped.

I tested this lens with my new Sony A6400 camera and so far have been well pleased with the quality of the images. They are clear and show colours in their entirely. It is very easy to use and I will need to get more practice but so far I am more than happy with the results.

Nachdem meine Vollformat Kamera und ihre lichtstarken Objektiven auf Grund der Gewichtsbeschränkung beim Bordgepäck meist zu Haus bleiben, mußte etwas für das Flug-Gepäck geeignetes her. Bei mir fiel die Wahl auf die A6700 und das SEL55210 für den Tele Bereich. Bei RAW Entwicklung der Bilder in Lightroom ist die Qualität absolut in Ordnung. (Ja natürlich, mein 70-200 f2.8 ist schärfer - nützt aber wenig wenn nicht dabei).

Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut, die Schärfe ist sehr gut. Einzig die Lichtstärke ist nicht besonders, aber das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau. Ich bin zufrieden mit dem Objektiv.

Ich habe es seit 2 Wochen in Gebrauch mit einer a6400 und bin sehr zufrieden. Man muss bei der Lichtstärke und Fokussierung ein paar Abstriche hinnehmen, aber das war schon vorher schon klar. Dafür kann man es aber auch bezahlen.

Not sure why I'm getting asked for a review a full decade later & after I just traded it in, but here it is. Decent lens. But it was a pain swapping lenses so much since this is an APS-C lens and starts at the full frame equivalent of 82.5, that is telephot territory. The aperture is small, so it's not great in low light. It's small, light, and has good range. But it's a consumer lens, not a professional one.

Got this lens a month ago and I am over the moon with it. For around £200 the pictures are surprisingly sharp and the stabilisation makes the focus very reliable. I pair it with a Sony A6000 and together they are perfect for casual photography.

Die niedrige Lichtstärke bringt es mit sich, dass das Objektiv schon bei offener Blende gute Bildergebnisse liefert. Ein praktisches Tele im meistgenutzten Bereich, nur die Anfangsbrennweite könnte noch etwas kürzer sein.

Das Objektiv habe ich absichtlich gekauft, als Abschluss am langen Enden. Bin überwiegend mit 35/50 unterwegs. 16/28 am kurzen Ende. Da fehlte mir etwas. Für den gelegentlichen Gebrauch kann ich mir einige Abstriche erlauben. Das Gewicht, ist das Hauptargument. Nicht zu schwer und der Tag ist gerettet. Nun die Portokasse muss zustimmen. Meine Filter mit 49mm passen, unabhängig davon ob ich sie hier benötige. Füllt die Lücke gefühlt gut aus. Ist daher genau das was ich brauche um meinen persönlichen Bedarf zu decken.

I bought this as logical lens to go with the 16-50mm EPZ kit lens that came with my Sony A6000. The lens certainly adds a lot of extra reach and creative flexibilty with good optics. It is lightweight and perfect partner to go with the kit lens especially if travelling . The picture quality for the price point is very good in my opinion.

Bought used at €125. For snaps of distant objects centre field. Removed plastic baffle and when used at max zoom on full frame setting there is a small amount of vignetting in corners that can be cropped away. Delivers sharper subject that on APS-C setting. Is generally smaller, lighter and cheaper than full frame alternatives.

Das SEL55210 ist ein Telezoom mit fairen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Brennweite von 55 bis 210 mm deckt viele Anwendungsbereiche ab, für eine Safari wird man aber mehr brauchen. Die Lichtstärke ist nur Mittelmaß, aber wir reden hier von einem Objektiv in der Einsteigerklasse. Einen optischen Bildstabilisator hat es aber, eine Sonnenblende ist mitgeliefert. Es wirkt gut verarbeitet und ist einfach benutzbar. Fazit: für den Preis sehr empfehlenswert, Profis dürften aber ein Objektiv mit mehr Brennweite und Lichtstärke wollen.

Das Objektiv kann auch für Nahaufnahmen in Makro Funktion verwendet werden. Perfekte Auflösung bei Nah und fern. Jedoch als Allrounder würde ich das Objektiv nicht bezeichnen, da es doch recht groß ist.

This kit lens made me feel like I downgraded when switching from A mount to E mount. I think my old DT55-200SAM I had paired to an a300 took higher quality pictures with better bokeh. It makes sense, considering the wider f-stop and 9 blade vs 7blade aperture. With OSS built into the old A-mount cameras, the only thing this lens has on the 55-200SAM is 10mm of focal length. That doesn't compensate for all the areas it falls short. Since the 55-210 is almost double the price and about a decade newer, you would think Sony would make it technologically superior.

Ich habe das Objektiv als Reisezoom gekauft, um an meiner Alpha 7r2 ein leichtgewichtiges Zoom einsetzen zu können. Mein SEL24240 ist besser in der Bildqualität, aber halt auch ein schweres Trumm..... Mit dem 42 Megapixel-Sensor ist es verschmerzbar, das der Sensorbereich auf APS-C beschnitten wird und "nur" 18 Mega übrig bleiben.
