Great value lens

I initially had my doubts about this lens. Since purchasing my Sony a7Rii camera I have spent a considerable amount of money on E mount lenses which cost far more money that this FE28mm F2 lens. I love this lens and it really fits that specific niche for me. With the recent price drop of the Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 which is next on my list, I will still be using this 28mm lens a lot. I am not a professional but merely a keen photographer. What I really like with primes is that I have to "work hard' to get the shot and this often captures much better images for me. Also the Sony a7Rii is a really great Video camera. I work in Post Production and will be using this 28mm quite a bit for shooting video. Great lens, do not underestimate it, nor think less about it just because it is cheaper than most of the other E mount lenses. Really recommend this lens, always has a spot in my "kit bag"

Ich habe das Objektiv jetzt ca. ein Jahr und bin sehr zufrieden. Die Bildqualität ist hinsichtlich des Preises wirklich beeindruckend. Es macht trotz des Kunststoffgehäuses einen wertigen Eindruck und hat 4 Wochen Island (teils lose im Rucksack)tadellos überstanden.

I just bought this lens to add to my collection and I simply love it. It's a tiny bit soft in the corners, but for the size, quick and silent auto focus and portability you can't beat it. I was a little worried about the 28mm focal length, but it ends up just wide enough (and fast enough) for perfect indoor shots of my kids. I shoot with an A9 because I need something as fast as my kids and I rarely miss a shot with this lens attached.

Very fast focusing and excellent in low light. Great photos even when I use the digital zoom on my Sony a6000 and a full frame lens using a APC sensor. Small size which fits in my bag. If asked I will recommend this lens.

S 28mm jsem začínal ještě na film a považuju ho za absolutně univerzální širokáč. nejraději používám na focení akcí kde je tma. Má kupodivu moc hezký bokeh na clonu 2 a poli s tělem řady A7 je to ideální nenápadný set up na street foto. a poměr cena výkon je fajn.

Very small and light so great for carrying around and outdoor work. The f2 is very useable and not as soft as some reviews suggest, though at the f20 and f22 end it does get a bit soft. Not so hot on starburst effects, I find. I will add a photo but once it's compressed as per the rules it's not really going to tell you anything.

Das Objektiv hat gutes Handling. Es ist angenehm klein und leicht, aber durchaus robust verarbeitet. Es ist mit F2.0 recht lichtstark und erzeugt ein angenehmes Bokeh. Verzeichnung und Vignettierung hat es dagegen gut im Griff. Ich habe letztens eine Hochzeit nur mit diesem Objektiv fotografiert und war von den Ergebnissen einfach nur begeistert. Das Brautpaar übrigens auch. ;-)

Das Objektiv macht mir Freude. Die wertige Verarbeitung mit einer Metallfassung sorgt für eine prima Haptik. Der Autofokus ist nahezu lautlos, schnell und präzise. Die optische Leistung an meiner Sony Alpha 7 II ist gut. Schon bei offener Blende ist die Schärfe in der Bildmitte überzeugend. Das Bokeh ist dabei sehr ansehnlich. Ablenden verbessert die Schärfe im Randbereich deutlich. Ab ca. Blende 8 ist der Schärfeeindruck über die gesamte Bildfläche sehr gut. So kann man das FE 28mm 2.0 auch für Landschaft oder Architektur einsetzen. Ebenfalls lobenswert: Durch das geringe Gewicht ist man mit der Alpha 7 II sehr mobil und unbeschwert unterwegs. Ich wünsche mir, dass Sony künftig noch 1-2 weitere Objektive von solcher Qualität zu einem erschwinglichen Preis anbietet.

J'ai acheté cet article pour répondre à un besoin lors de mariage, à savoir avoir une ouverture assez grande et un grand angle pour les espaces à faible recul. L'objectif est un peu mou à pleine ouverture, centre ok mais bords justes. L'objectif devient excellent à partir de F4. Testé sur aps-c et plein format.

Das SEL 28/20 ist mein immerdrauf. Da ich sehr viel street fotografiere, habe ich mit 28mm, auf meiner alpha 6000, das perfekte objektiv für mich gefunden. Einziges manko ist der fehlende stabi. Ist jetzt aber auch nicht so schlimm, da ich ja eh mindestens mit 1/50sek. belichte. Ich kann das objektiv auf jeden fall empfehlen.

Offenblendig nicht bis in den Ecken scharf, allerdings sehr gut beim Fokussieren in Low-Light. Bei 28mm und Blende 2.0 lassen sich Motive gut freistellen. Blendet man etwas ab, nimmt die Schärfe auch im Randbereich zu. Für viele Nutzer eine eher ungewohnte Brennweite, aber ich möchte sie - nicht zuletzt aufgrund des schnellen, präzise Autofokus - nicht missen.

+ Kompakt + leiser und schneller AF + abgeblendet scharf + bessere Leistung bei Gegenlicht als die Konkurrenz von Sigma - Abbildungsmaßstab könnte besser sein - bei Offenblende schwache Ränder, für Astro oder available light daher nicht geeignet - kein Bildstabilisator (leider bietet Sony im Gegensatz zur mFT Konkurrenz keine bezahlbaren Bodies mit IBIS an) - Vignettierung auf Vollformat soll laut Tests extrem schlecht sein (was den Dynamikumfangvorteil von Sonysensoren negiert)

Bei der mir vorliegenden Version ist die optische Leistung leider mehr als nur ungenügend. Wenn überhaupt, dann könnte man ab f/8.0 von einer einigermaßen akzeptablen Abbildung sprechen. Davor hat das nicht wirklich was mit einem fotografischen Produkt zu tun. Das mir vorliegende 28mm f2 ist von der optischen Leistung mit Abstand das schlechteste Objektiv, was mir in 30 Jahren Fotografie untergekommen ist. Und ich habe wirklich schon mit sehr vielen Objektiven an verschiedensten Kameras gearbeitet. Ich hoffe jetzt ein passend gefertigtes oder eingestelltes im Austausch zu erhalten.

Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen habe ich mich auf die 28mm eingelassen. Leider ist mein Exemplar bei Offenblende sehr weich, um nicht zu sagen unscharf. Dies kenne ich so nicht bei Sony. All meine anderen Festbrennweiten sind Egel bei welcher Blende scharf. Daher bin ich eher enttäusch über die Optische Leistung. Verarbeitung etc. ist wie immer Gut, angenehm Leicht und passt von der Größe gut zum E Mount System.

Very light weight makes it ideal for hikes. Quiet and super fast focus on the A7iii. Image quality is great for the cost, not as sharp as the Zeiss and Sony G series, but pretty darn good. Wide open aperture is a little softer, but by 2.8 its sharpened up. Good bokeh. Very good on the flare and coma. The only con - astrophotography is hard with this lens due to the in-camera manual focus (clutch). There is no way to find set point and mark it on the body, so you are having to fine tune it every time. I had to make a Bahtinov focusing mask to help speed up the process. I've attached some examples (no lens correction or noise reduction)

Excellent Prime Lens

I purchased this product on the 15th of August to be a prime lens with my brand new AR7 III. I didn't have a lot of funds after purchasing the camera body and since I am using my camera primarily for video I decided the best way to get started was with a prime lens. I am extremely pleased with the results. Using an ND 8 filter, I am able to shoot almost exclusively in the F2 range never going beyond F2.8 under full sun conditions. This lens also kills in low-light situations. A few nights ago I was listening to a podcast on how to configure settings for my camera. I had the camera in front of me, and I decided to let it record as I was playing with the settings. The only light in the room was coming from my computer monitor. I started playing with the settings and once I adjusted the shutter speed the camera could clearly show what the rest of the room looked like including a resin statue with a lot of detail. The picture clearly showed the darkness along with everything in the darkness. I couple of classmates got to see this video, and they were like "Holy smoke your camera does night vision!" I recommend the following things to get more mileage out of this lens: 1. Invest in a UV and Polarizing filter (the lens is a 49 mm lens). 2. Get yourself a ND filter set: at least ND8, ND32, and ND 64. These will serve you well when you are shooting in full sun because they will let you keep your aperture open at its maximum setting. 3. Take advantage of the hood that comes with lens. 4. When shooting at night don't use any of the ND lenses, consider the Polarizing filter. 5. Definitely use a tripod, rig or gimble when shooting with this lens because it doesn't have image stabilization.

Bought in conjunction with the 21mm Ultra wide conversion and very happy. 28mm is one of my favorite focal lengths and this gives very pleasing results. The Ultra wide is a simple attachment for those specious scenes when required. Great price as well.

Gekauft, war begeistert, Urlaub und dann Enttäuschung ohne Ende. Farben flau, Schärfe sehr schlecht, vor allem nachmittags ist es reines Glück beim Autofokus, beim reinzoomen sind die Gesichter unscharf. Gleich danach batis Gekauft und das Thema ist erledigt.

Das Objektiv benutze ich sowohl auf der A7 als auch auf der A6500. Die Brennweite ist genial. Damit kann man sehr viele Motive fotografieren. Mit den zusätzlichen Konvertern ist das eine super Kombination. Das Objektiv fokussiert sehr schnell und die Optische Leistung ist einfach nur der Hammer. !!! Und der Preiß ist auch sehr gut. Allerdings ist hier die Serienstreuung von Sony sehr groß. Das erste Exemplar war nicht annähernd so gut!!! Also gut aufpassen beim Kauf.

Clarity across. I was disappointed at first until I realized that not all software reads raw images the same. ACDSee for example opens the raw image but the image is slightly blurred compared to the JPG that I thought I had a camera or lens problem. Then I used Capture One software for Sony Cameras and the images are crisp and clean and when converting from raw to JPG is excellent using Capture One. Just keep that in mind.
