Confirmed UK has it and typing now from it is a dream. I still think that comms could have been better through this process but thank-you for sticking to the roll out date. I want to confirm for everyone though not just UK, I know theres a Finish friend on here, did you receive it yet dogman?
thank you sony for the update and so far I must say its now running like a dream and now I dont have to shy away from ipad friends when it comes to typing.

im in love again... speedy pad some nice new features, speed typing and wifi uber now, love music controls without having to unlock... must investigate and see if we have swipe to type

Sorted. The issue was that my tablet was in the cradle whilst downloading the ice cream sandwich update. As soon as I got on the phone to Sony tech support I had to remove the tablet from the cradle to punch in my serial number for the automated case number activation.
I hadn't realised that I left the download going in the background for the umpteenth time and while I was speaking to the tech support agent the tablet informed me that it was ready to proceed now that it it had in fact downloaded ICS!
Obviously I informed the tech support agent that I had got further than all the other previous attempts and he congratulated me on providing them with an answer to this issue that obviously may re-occure with other users in the future.
I must say I was very pleasantly surprised with the friendly and helpful attitude of tech support UK and I was happy to say so on the survey at the end of the phone call.
They did however ask if there was one thing that Sony could have done better and I left a message to say that the UK customers were left in the dark as to why they were a month behind the USA customers, for what it's worth.
seems ok, not to sure on the lack of order on the app screen and the small app remote app is not customisable. would prefer numbers rather than p-/+.
move some big apps from internal to 'usb storage' (the build in extra storage)
you need space free in the internal memory to do this upgrade
