Black screen follows boot-up on Song VCG-LA2 on Windows 7

I have a Sony VCG-LA2 & recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. It boots up perfectly, I see the Windows 7 logo, however the screen goes black & not even the mouse is visible. To make the screen visible again, I have made it go into sleep mode and then at the end of a few minutes I wake it & the normal screen then appears. I have updated the Nvidia drivers & still have this annoying black screen. Any suggestions?

    Try to learn something from it. Have you tried getting it back to Vista and see if you will get this black screen? If yes, then there might be a problem with your system. If not, then the problem seems to be coming from Windows 7 compatibility.

    i have found pressing 'CTRL + ALT + DELETE' and click 'TASK MANAGER', then click in the processes tab at the top (the second tab in), then click on 'explorer.exe' and click delete. It will come up with 'Are you sure' or similar, click yes. Then click on 'File - Start New Process' A box appears then type in 'explorer.exe' and hit enter.

    Explorer then starts properly and all will boot correctly as it should.
