When will the technical specification included details about whether HDMI posts are configured with v1.4 and Enabled.

It's impossible to know which TV to buy given that BluRay home cinema requires ARC which means having HDMI v1.4 port that is enabled.

There are TVs with HDMI v1.4 but not enabled. Why ?

I'd like to buy a 40in Sony TV that will work with my Sony bluray L600 and enable me to use home cinema speakers for TV and Bluray but can't tell which one offers HDMI v1.4 that is enabled.

When will Sony updates technical specifications to show relevant HDMI information ?

I don't think ARC is a mandatory feature for v1.4 - however as far as I know most of the recent EX, NX and HX models would for sure. Best way to check is visit your good local retailer and look at the back as its always HDMI1 socket which would be the one that is enabled and its labeled 'ARC' as well.

You do make a valid point about the information supplied online though.

    Thanks
