Any help with VGN-FW31e

Hi Guys. New guy here. I have a sony VGn_fw31E purchased from new. I use particular addional hardware for creating music. Pro tools etc. My Studio keyboard is not supported with Vista , only XP. I have partioned my hard drive with no problems but when I try to install XP I get the blue screen after XP loads the drivers...So I am unable to proceed and finish the installation. On various forums it is suggested I alter the bios configuartion. However my bios does not allow me to do so. 

Any help guys and I would be so so so greatful

by the way my keyboard is not supported under vista..

    Hi Gary and welcome.

     

    Sony do not support XP on your model and so there are no XP compatible Drivers and Utilities available from the Support website..  The Vista drivers will not work and will just blue-screen.

     

    You may have to find the compatible drivers individually and install them.  I don't think I have seen a guide to installing XP on a FW31, but try a search for XP drivers.

    I presume you have tried running the software in Vista using XP emulation?

    Thanks for youre reply Blencogo. Indeed I have tried the Xp emulation but with no joy. It seems inevitable that Im going to have to upgrade my additional hardware which can than run along side Vista.

    Just to make sure I assume you mean right click on the program and in the compatability change the stting to run in xp sp 2 mode....For this is what I have tried but to no avail...
