Missing Codec

When I try to open movie files downloaded from my HX9V to Photoshop Elements v9 they will not open, quoting that a Codec ismissing.  Where can I obtain this mysterious item. or avoid the problem, please?

    This means that your player doesn't have codecs. Try updating it and hope it works.

     

    You also have an option do use VLC instead. Which is a freeware. https://imagicon.info/cat/12-13/vmware_happy.gif

    Hi tickerwilli, welcome to the Sony Forums

     

    Did you mean Premiere Elements 9? Photoshop is for still images, which might explain the problem.

     

    If you still have problems, import from your camera using Windows Movie Maker (or similar) and see if you can get that to open.
