Im trying to reset my Sony CDX-DAB700U. Ive searched for answers but cant find any. The head unit DOES NOT have a reset button. So how do i reset it?

I have a sony stereo fitted in my 61 plate ford kuga how do i remove the previously registered phones

from my system as ford only allow 6 phonesw to be registered can anyone help me

I have just bought a sony CDX GD26 car radio and it keeps changing stations automatically.

This means when I am listening to a traffic report, the radio automatically changes station!

Therefore I have to take my eyes off the road to retune.

How can I stop this or is this a design fault?

Question regarding the iPod adapter XA-120IP

Hi good folks.

Does anyone know, if the iPod adapter XA-120IP will work with the car radio CDX-M730 ?

I just can't tell from any review I can find.

Also I can't see if the special Link cable comes with the XA device. It probably does, but Sonys webpage doesn't say.

Can anyone help?

Hello everyone,
My problem is with the usb.I have a flash drive that i use with the Sony DSX-a30 but today it give me the error NO Support I try everything from the troubleshoot section but nothing help. Can someone tell me what can i do to fix this problem? Any help will be appreciate.

DSX-S300BTX - Handsfree call problem, No Audio

Hi all, I've recently bought DSX - S300BTX car unit, and I need your suggestion. I'm having troubles with Handsfree Bluetooth Phone Call function . Actually, when I make or receive a call using my iPhone 4S (iOS6), I have no audio from car speakers, if I'm in "Bluetooth Audio", "Bluetooth Phone", or "USB mode". But everything is fine if in "Tuner" mode. The "handsfree on" message is correctly displayed.

I've tried the "call transfer" button, as suggested in a sony FAQ, but no luck. Can be a defective unit?

Would anyone know how this handles having sat nav and music playing at the same time? When a direction is spoken on my sat nav (on phone) does the music automatically get turned down? Im planning on getting 1 in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for any help

XAV-601 BT ipod music + mobile navi at same time

I fitted my XAV-601 BT at the weekend.

When listerning to music with my ipod and using my mobile as a navigation,the music is not interupted with driving instructions.

The mobile is connected via bluetooth and when I go in the menu and select BT Audio I can here the directions over the car speakers

I know this is an old model. But i wondered if anyone had any idea why it would suddenly start to ot read cd's? All i get is an error message and a fe beeps now. Sudden onst, was working perfectly until today.

I've tried most things you'd normally try, lens cleaner, deifferent disks, resetting th stereo etc. But nothing!

There is no usuable information anywhere else online for this model of car stereo, so i thought i'd try here!

Is there a way to get the Xperia J to work with this stereo's mirrorlink??

I plugged it in and the stereo says it doesn't recognise the device...

I just find it silly that a SONY stereo doesn't recognise a SONY phone..

I'm posting this to show what I have found so hopefully and if it's possible Sony engineer's can make some more FW mods, this isn't a critic post btw, I'm just putting up my findings in much the way a beta tester would report back,

1 - Mirrorlink fullscreen, it's a great idea but has one real flaw, when it's active you can't swipe down to access the icons that are active on the phone, i.e the ones inline with the signal bar on the phone.

2 - The faceoff bleeps, why not release two FW's, one keeps the bleep the other discards it, or better still if the bleep can be selected on or off in options

3 - Option to split the Walkman with the Nav on the same screen like it shows in press shots, I suspect this is when you have the Nav module fitted it looks like this so maybe it would require an update on the phone rather than the HU

4 - Full sound support when in Mirrorlink for the phone so you can save battery by not having the BT on on the phone otherwise call sound is through the handset still

5 - MKV support

I'll add in as I go as I know there is one other thing I noticed that I can't remember what it was right now.

Hi,

The attenuate (mute) button comes on and off around the same areas when I am driving (eg Junction of M25/A3) and I want to find a way to disable the att function on the radio as I do not have a wired in mobile phone.

Various online forum answers advise taping off the light blue att wire?

When i use a USB stick in my car stereo, although the music is tagged and shows, the folders just have a number, i.e. folder 1, I have named the folders but they dont show on the stereo?

Storing phone numbers in the presets

I have just bought a new car music system which is compatible with my iPhone. However, although the phonebook has downloaded ok from my iPhone, I cannot store my most used numbers into the 6 presets. I have checked with the retailer where I bought the device who thinks the problem is with the iPhone. I can scroll through my phonebook on my device and manually find numbers but that is not feasible whilst driving. Any suggestions would be welcome. Everything else works great and my iPhone has paired with the device and music etc. works great.

I've got my 3900U working perfectly, set up was fairly simple with instructions, but cannot for the life of me follow the instructions successfully to store phone numbers on 1-6 on the unit to enable me to make hands free speed dialling phone calls. Instructions don't give a great deal of info. Anyone done this successfully??? FYI I have an iPhone 4. Please help if you can. Thanks.

Mirrorlink Q&A on 601BT & other Sony units

This is my opinion on Mirrorlink having had it for the last 4 weeks,

I use a 601BT unit with an Xperia Z so this is how these two go together,

Phone - Clear as the BT function outside of the ML

Music - Works pretty good, I can hear the odd not supposed to be there noises now and again although this could be dodgy ripping at fault rather than anything on the phone of HU

Video - This one needs work, on the latest FW it's getting there but there is still a lag between the phone and HU and it shows on the HU as microsecond judder

Nav through phone - Google maps works lovely, other nav programs from the phone (android) work but some shut out the video when in motion, Google doesn't and it gives you street view as well, I use this with a Camalert overlay or Navfree which is worldwide mapping with poi and camera alerts

Interface - when using it to control; phone settings by way of a swipe down it's esential to use your finger slowly, a swipe results in a bounce to close thing happening, you get Nav,Media and App control plus you can custom link anything on your phone to launch also, simply hitting the X on Sony Car on the display takes you back to the Android interface where you can opp anything on the phone like radio,media,internet etc from the HU

The latest FW adds ML in fullscreen and it is imo a great addition giving you a 6 inch sat nav and a better viewing experience

As for the rest of the unit, I really like it, I started out looking at a £180 JVC sale off model and thought I want BT phone use, so looking deeper I found the 601BT at £299 sadly the place I got it from is now out of stock (well sadly for those wanting one anyway) and Halfords who were selling it for £299 at the time now list it at £599 RRP in the UK is supposed to be £479 or thereabouts, if you can snag one at sub £300 it's a bargain, over and up to £450 I'd say it's a good buy but over that I think it's moving into serious money, it resumes well and plays video without sound sync issues, you have a WVGA screen which is sharp and can play higher res than a VGA unit can, overall I'm pleased with it and happy I bought it, I found ML by accident but even though it's just cost me a new phone contract it's a great thing to have, working with what I have seen if you have an Android phone that will work with ML get this, if you have an iPhone 4 or 4s look at the Pioneer app radio, if you have an iPhone 5 be prepared to spend out on more leads regardless of what you choose,

One dam fine effort of a total incar entertainment system imo, snag one if you can you won't regret it especially if you can get it sub £300 and there aren't many face off units at that price, 60PERCENTAGESIGN of the reason I chose it tbh as I had a Pioneer unit before that had to go as I always had it in my miond would I still have a door window when I got back to the car, this sorts that and gives me piece of mind.

p.s I forgot to add USB HDD support, don't bother with mechanical HDD's they simply aren't fast enough for a good experience, however SSD is another ball game, fast enough and the way to go, I've had a 1TB WD Elements work ok but it does run out of buffer steam and a 60GB OCZ Agility drive that works ace, I would think the way to go with this is a 256GB SSD eventually when they come down in price, you don't want too large a drive anyway as it takes an age to update the library, I cut my mSD cards in half by way of folders named Video & Music, you can use a deeper folder structure as well if you want but simply dumping a 1000 random tracks on a card will still sort out if you slect album or artist, well as long as your tags are correct anyway and always format to FAT32.

Problems with XAV-601BT

There does not seem to be much on here about the XAV601BT but I am hoping that other owners may be able to give some input.

Have only had the unit a week but am having issues which may or may not be problems:

1. Cannot update firmware as the menu on the XAV601BT is different to that on the website.

2. The removeable face is almost impossible to remove - it needs two hands and you almost rip the whole unit out of the car! Is this normal and will it wear in in time?

3. Does anyone know if the SAT NAV module will be made available in UK? the only ones I can find are in the U.S. with US/Canadian maps.

I'm looking at buying the Sony XAV-601BT. I've looked at a pioneer app radio enabled model but all I read about is how they don't work with an iPhone 5. Well that's just not good enough!
