I have tried to put ITV & BBC Player on my wife's Sony S Tablet, but it wont have it. Tried loading Adobe Flash Player, but still no good!.

As anyone done it and can tell me how or is it not possible?.

I have a Sony Tablet S (SGPT111BG/S) which has suddenly stopped working.

This was working and I have been using this daily and when not in use is placed on a Sony docking station to charge over night. When I last removed this from the docking station it could not be started.

I have tried all the resets i.e. holding in start button for 10 sec, holding start button and + key and the tried the reset button which did not do anything. The reset did not flash any red lights just remained dead.

The mains adaptor has the small green light on constantly even when the tablet is not connected to the adaptor which I believe is normal. When the tablet is now plugged into the mains no charging light is present on the tablet. This used to be on all the time when plugged in i.e. amber when battery was lower and green when fully charged.

Please could you advise on what I can do to fix this I think it may be either a battery or mains adaptor issue. I am reluctant to buy a new main adaptor if this may not be the problem.

Please can you help me to resolve this issue and get my tablet working again.

I try to get 100% battery load on my tablet z. I connected the tablet for 6 hours !! in offline mode with the standard plug. But i only get ca. 63 % of load.

How long i must connect the tablet until i get 100% ?

..Is this normal that it takes so long time ?. Anyone got 100% of load with his tablet Z ?

Xperia Z not playing movies from Micro SD card

Hello,

Apologies if this has been asked before but I have had a good look on the internet and can't find a solution to this.

I have a Kingston Micro SD Class 10 formatted to exFat; I erased the card and mounted it through the Xperia.

Basically if I transfer some movie files to the internal memory they play no problem on the built in Sony movies app and on VLC player.

I transferred some music, pictures and movies to my external card. The music files play. The pictures are all there. The movies show up as being there but won't play - they have duration set to 00:00.

I deleted all of the movie files earlier and then added just 2 to my Micro SD and hey presto they played no problem, however when I added other movie files none of them played. They are all in avi. format.

So the Xperia Z is capable of playing these files but doesn't seem to like them when they are on the external memory.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Xperia Tablet Z port flap not closing completely

Hi there,

I was one of the lucky ones to received their Sony Xperia Tablet Z 16GB WiFi on 22 May 2013. I preordered it from sony.co.uk sometime in April.

I have an issue with the flap which covers the headphone port. I have only used the headphone port once and ever since opening it, I have noticed that I have not been able to shut it completely, unlike the other port flaps - the charger (which I have opened and closed numerous times) and micro sd ports which shuts completely and firmly. Whenever I close the flap, it will start to slowly open itself and leave a gap. As far as I am aware of, the ports need to be completely closed to prevent water breach and my issue above would cause problems then if I decide to submerge it.

I have tried contacting Sony UK and Sony Mobile who are both happy to pass me around and not wanting to take responsibility or even help me resolve this issue. As this tablet is only a few weeks old, I should be covered by your returns policy. However I do like the tablet and would like to resolve this issue by either getting it fixed or swapping with a new tablet which does not have this defect.

Could a Sony rep please get in touch with me and point me in the right direction.

crackle keeps launching

hi, Dont know if anyone else has seen this, but every time I dock my xperia tablet z crackle launches, but nfc is turned off and everything in smart connect is disabled. I cant find a way of stopping it launching, any ideas?

Water damage to Xperia Tablet S

I was under the impression that the Xperia Tablet S was water resistant. However after a few splashes of water, the tablet stopped functioning.

It was prompty sent back to the repair centre, However I am now being told that I can either pay €370 to get it repaired, or €140 to get it sent back in its broken state.

Now of course I can buy a brand new tablet for less than the price of the repair bill. Has any one else had issues with repair after contact with water? Has any one resolved such a problem?

Surely the tablet is not fit for purpose if it cant handle any contact with water! Wasn't this tablet the first water resistant tablet on the market? I saw promotional videos with the device being splashed. I saw the tablet at the IFA 2013 under a flow of water to demonstrate its water resistance.

So, it apears it can not resist water, and it cannot be repaired in warranty if water gets in it. What a waste of time and money this tablet has been!

My tablet gets really warm and now I have noticed 2 yellow spots at the bottom near the corners (seems like a burn in of some sort) and it will not go away.

I have only had this for a week and just started using it for the last 3 days.

How can I return this?

Hi,

I don't know if anyone else has tried using an Adonit Jot Pro stylus with the xperia tablet Z but it is worse than useless. My Jot Pro works 100PERCENTAGESIGN reliably and flawlessy with an Xperia SL and an Xperia SP mobile phone. so I know its not the stylus. I visited a sony store and tried a display model too - exactly the same result so its not just mine.

I have found a couple of details on japanese blogs that there was an update on DoCoMo that was allegedly related to the touch performance, but I have put a support request into Sony with no response whatsoever (poor customer service...)

If this problem is going to be fixed with an update soon, then I will keep my tablet because it is a nice device, but I really want this functionality and I know I can get it if I change my tablet for an alternate suppliers device.

Has anybody else had any experience with this?

When I want to speak an instruction like a search or whatever and I press the microphone icon, I immediately receive an error notification stating that I could not be understood. I did not even have the time to say something!

This is very annoying for such an expensive Xperia Z tablet. Any help to solve this problem is highly appreciated.

I have purchased a Sony Xperia Z tablet 32gb WiFi from John Lewis. It arrived, brand new, sealed, all above board. Beautiful tablet, superb screen. Never used Android before, always had Apple products. Now the problem....I go to Flixster, access my Ultraviolet movies a/c and as soon as I click "watch" I get a message that it can't play because of "security"??? issues and flixster is working on it. Searching the net it appears this message occurs on a "rooted" tablet (which I assume means hacked"). How can this be? The tablet is brand new, I wouldn't know how to "root" it if my life depended on it, I've e-mailed Sony to no effect, so I'm hoping that someone out there can shed a light on this. It gets worse............Sony pictures site's ultraviolet won't play because Silverlight is not installed on the tablet. No worries - out to Microsoft. Guess what..Silverlight doesn't work on Android. Nice one. So, I have movies on two sites and can't access any of them. It may be teething troubles, but I'm getting the feeling I should have bought the iPad. Anyway, enough of the rant, if anyone can help I'd be grateful.

I have the original Sony Tablet S, I couldn't find on the web whether it is going to get the Jelly Bean update, so I thought I would ask on here.

It would be upsetting to find out it's not getting the update, as I can only assume that you won't be able to download apps etc that have only been made to work on Jellybean

These slow updates and fixes are really unacceptable, especialy if you payed premium .............

They have yet to fix the old tablet s1 since launch.

And the same problems with tablet s1 exist on xperia tablet s which been broken since launch asswell.

Camera is bugged when you release thumb it un focuses then take picture instead off taking sharp picture, which is a bug that exist on a lot sony smartphones or tablets.

tablet s1 and xperia tablet s suffer random shutdowns.

Sony had promised to fix this in next jelly bean update then deleted their thread probably to claim that they never promised to fix it in first place.........

I am really keen to buy the New Xperia Z I was going to buy one of the ASUS transformer pads,but I think SONY have come up with a first class product (Hope so)?

One thing i would like to do is use the Xperia as my music server i have a lot of top quality Music files ~ 24/96 Quality.and I would like to know if it is possible to add an outboard DAC/AMP to enhance further the sound quality of the Tablet z?

I tried to find the answers on online Computer music Forums!! but it is hard work trying to get a straight answer especially if you are not very technical like me!

Can anyone help please? I've been round and round the Sony site looking for the full manual for my shiny new Xperia Tablet Z. No matter what form I enter the model number or name I get zero results. Maybe Sony have marketed the Z before any manuals have been produced! I've even tried to download the Xperia Table S thinking there migh be similarities but because I don't have a valid model number I come up against a wall. Help please, this is so very frustrating!!

Hi, so I recently bought a Xperia S tablet (SGPT12). I exitedly updated the Sideview app' and I am now struggling to find out why there is no 'Watch' button when I select a program from the guide. My tv is a Sony KDL46NX723. I really do not want to hear there's a compatablity issue, hopefully it's a setting I have neglected either on the tablet or tv?

Also, I am not seeing my USB pocket drive which was formatted FAT32 on my Windows laptop. I dont really want to reformat as there is loads of stuff on there.

Huge thanks to anyone who can help with these couple of issues, I have dug around elsewhere and now need the experts to help me out.

Can't use my stylus since Jelly Bean update

Around the time that I applied the Jelly Bean update to my Xperia S I noticed that my stylus (one of those soft-tipped ones) was no longer working after a couple of months' use with no problems.

I'm not technically minded, so can someone tell me if there is any way the update could have caused this? If not, do you have any other suggestions for its sudden failure?
